Okay, so someone last night used the "I am white but I grew up poor so I'm TOTALLY not privileged" trope on me last night. Part of me wanted to laugh, part to cry.

That's an excellent response!
I think you mean *AMURIKA!
In Philadelphia the trolley lines go both underground and aboveground, about half and half. The only actual subway is the north-south BSL, since the east-west El is considered an elevated line.
Stop!! You're overwhelming my ladybrain! Quickly, fetch my cross-stitch and smelling salts!
Yeah, that's like all those "I am not the 99%" arguments about people who worked 3 jobs while going to school and whatever. Do you use sidewalks and public roads? Did you take out Stafford Loans? They exist thanks to the government, so please bugger off, because your bootstraps were given an extra lift.
I am seconding that. Sigh, Monday.
I'm giving you a heart for that. Quite excellent!
But wait, what about all the white people who grew up poor and blah blah blah we're post racial Ron Paul 2012?
She had a few projects in the works with the blonde hair but from what I understand she had almost complete freedom over her appearance, she's that level of superstar where an agency can't tell her to not color her hair/change her look. Lower level models have almost no control because it's included in their agency…
Couldn't have said it better myself. I think the concern trolling has to stop on both sides of the spectrum, as a model I have been bullied and generally insulted by people for how I naturally look and it gets really old really fast.
Just saying, making those generalizations about models is just as much BS as what Natalia said. Yes, a good deal of it is genes and luck and being young, but the whole drugs and starvation thing is so overplayed and insulting. Every person's case is an individual one and as a model I appreciate it when people don't…
Kate Moss is 38 and still going strong, Natalia has been a Calvin model for longer than I can even remember.
I have to agree, it looked interesting on a shoot that she did, but overall I would vote no on the cocaine blonde-no eyebrows thing. Also a model, so yadda yadda we are so tired of people talking about our weight that are not our personal doctors and know nothing about us.
I love having shaded brows, I will never go back from it, I feel like my face is so much more striking with a heavy brow as opposed to my normal scraggly ones. I am moving to a slightly lighter brown though, since summer months are coming.
Here, here! As another lady with hair that people always think is dyed, I am all for telling them to go fuck themselves.
"...so many girls who said OK then cried rape afterward."
Well, it's good to know I'm on the path to success!
Truly, I am ill at the thought of a 4/4 schedule and that is why I am not going to become a professor of anthropology/archaeology, and why I sold my eggs to gather my entire tuition for graduate school. Also, I laughed at the thought of a 25 student class as far as yearly grad school acceptance for all of the unis…
Yeah, anthropology is kind of the same way, which was why I chose to branch into archaeology and pursue a subfield that is somewhat unexplored and only exists at like 20 universities in the world.
