Let us quietly contemplate this 1974 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne instead.

Turd of an engine? As you said it was robust. And 190Hp and 250ft*lb was pretty good for the time (we are talking truck engines here). Not as good as some earlier iterations of the 90deg 262 V6 (up to 200hp and 260 lb*ft) but still stout. And what was the weight? Probably a pretty good power-to-weight ratio.

Sometimes I miss the ol’ nuclear banana. Kept it super clean and sold it with around 30.5k on the odo in 2010. It went to it’s second owner home in Pittsburgh.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever ridden one before, but an e-bike feels like an entirely different mode of transport. I ride a normal bike often for exercise and recreation, but an E-bike makes you completely recalibrate your sense of when you need to use a car/public transit. You’re range for that sort of thing more than

It’s harder to put out because it can reignite. The EV stores “energy” in the batteries that are usually under the car. Making it harder to get to to put water on it. Even when you put out the fire though, that doesn’t mean all the energy in the batteries have been used up. Batteries consist of hundreds of “cells”.

Harder to extinguish for sure, but I am not certain that one fire is more dangerous than others aside from the difficulty of extinguishing.

I know the exact Denny’s you’re talking about that whole area is wild.

Have you considered not shopping there?

It honestly never even occurred to me that EVs didn’t have OBD-II. Is the regulation really written in such a way that they are exempt?

True. Now if Toyota would actually build some plug-in hybrids, especially on its guzzlers. The incremental improvement of going from a 2023 Corolla to a 2023 Corolla Hybrid isn’t worth much. But if Toyota would actually make a Prime version of the Taco, the 4Runner, Tundra, and Sequoia, then we are onto something...

Easy: Window = ideal napping. You get the wall of the plane / window to stick your pillow/jacket against. That’s my #1 priority on a plane.

Getting to watch the takeoff/landing is also a bonus, especially if you’re sitting somewhere you can see the workings of the wing.

Who are these monsters that, “grab window seats first.”? Aisle seat always, unless the kids are with us, then I get crammed into a middle seat.

yeah i think the other automakers were hoping that Hybrid stage would be so short that they could just skip the expense of engineering them. i don’t know what some people really expected or hoped Toyota would do, their brand isn’t new tech it’s durable tech.

Project Farm is awesome, small nitpick though, he posts videos every Sunday around 1 central. His tests are perfect but he’s always pretty up front about his methods and reasoning. If you are looking to make a sort of significant purchase or looking into things like the best oils or greases he’s probably tested it.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with developing strictly EVs, but there is no reason to not keep developing hybrid powertrains at the same time.

100% agree, but that’s what happens when politicians set rules and laws without due diligence.

I wonder if there’s a point where they pull the plug. This thing is going to make the Model S look like a sales champ, and I honestly wonder what would devalue Tesla stock more: gutting the Cybertruck entirely, or two years of low sales before cancellation?

It will sell quickly to the actual reservation holders but it will not be a success. It’s going to be way too expensive and impractical. The S/X are at least usable as actual cars. My guess is that they just end up shelving this thing after a couple years and re-using the platform for something else, while acting like

I think it’s fair to point out how poorly designed/built the Cybertruck is.

I want the damn thing to go sale just so we can talk about it in the past tense...give it the obituary it deserves.
