I tend to only buy used vehicles with over 80k miles on them......... so how does that factor in?

I cannot comment on the Witcher as I have not read the books, played the games or watched the series.

I don’t know that it would have to be Anime, but at least Animated would be really good.

The show is a horrible attempt to check off every single box to appease every single group who might want representation.

The only thing to remember is that Rafe Judkins is loosly basing this abomination of a story on the Epic Work of Robert Jordan.

Locally I still see very old diesel trucks being listed with over 100k miles for near $50k.....

Looks like they took my comment and turned part of it into a new story - https://jalopnik.com/heres-why-los-angeles-roads-get-slippery-when-it-rains-1850762158

HA! you took my comment on the story about cars spinning out on the freeway and turned it into an article.....

This is obviously the fault of the idiot behind the wheel for not stopping his car from doing this.... but it also points out a pretty big flaw in use of the term self-driving and shows just how far we really are from automobiles that can drive us around without a human at the controls to take over when the computers

With the sails installed, the Pyxis Ocean’s voyage from China to Brazil is predicted to take six weeks. On a traditional voyage powered by fuel alone, the same journey can take anywhere between 20 and 40 days to compete.

yeah they burn the nastiest unrefined crude - though some ships are burning cleaner fuels these days there are still a number of super high polluters out there doing more damage to the environment than all the ICE cars in the world.

Thank you for posting this. For all the bashing people from the other states like to do to California they totally miss the fact that a huge part of the California Population are transplants from those states. And when it comes to the rain, I am certain that some of the people driving too fast are from California and

I did not see a vote for the Mac n Cheese Bug Eye WRX!!!

yeah, annual readings seem like the best option - so much so that the gas tax should just be dropped in favor of such a change in tax.

The trick with a per/mile fee (which is honestly the most fair way to do it) is how to track mileage without big overhead costs and without invasion of privacy. Perhaps states with Smog rules and annual or semi-annual smog checks could make EV’s go in for mandatory Odometer readings.....

I know what the problem is, I am asking for a solution. Jalopnik is keen on pointing fingers and having a “hot take” but they rarely follow that with any meaningful ideas to fix the issue they are complaining about.

That is a really interesting idea. That would mean gas tax would have to be revoked to make it fair to all parties. But that could work.

well I know you and I both are happy about this change.

that would mean removing EV subsidies as well wouldn’t it?

So how would you write the law? That is what I am asking. What would be fair in your opinion. Also - how did that average of 28k a year get accounted for?
