I wanted to swap in a later 5.9 Magnum into my 91' but I ended up blowing up the transmission and donating it before that happened.  Still want to make an R/T version of this generation Dakota because the later R/T was such a beast.  If I could rig up a T56 to it that would be even cooler.

I was looking into the history of the BRM 1.5L Supercharged V16 because I couldn’t fathom why they would have so many cylinders on such a small displacement engine. Come to find out it was envisioned as 2 750cc V8's back-to-back and I’m even more confused because we are talking about a motorcycle engine sized V8.

Were those filled with gas?  I really hope they didn’t just crush them with tanks full of fuel because that seem really irresponsible.

For those complaining about the lack of a V8, just go ahead and put a V8 in.  The 318 drops right in.  I had a ‘91 that had one from the factory.  Hell put the 5.9/360 in and make an R/T.

Wow those tires look like rubber bands.  In my experience regular ol’ BMW’s eat tires due to a lot of negative camber and staggered tire sizes (can’t rotate).  I imagine with the power this puts out, the super low profile of the tires, and the weight of the vehicle this is going to go through some tires.

I should clarify for those not familiar with VA’s governor term that a governor cannot serve consecutive terms.  I also like Ralph but I don’t see him running again in this political climate.  He did more to decriminalize Marijuana than any governor has done so far which is a huge step in the right direction for VA.

Assuming 3.7 and 6 speed auto in the MKX you should be ok for awhile. I mainly worked on the early MKX’s which had problems with hub bearings failing (makes a loud noise on the highway) and water pumps leaking. The later ones seemed to have less issues.

The Civic is more powerful, has more interior space, handles better, has a nicer interior, and has significantly better NVH. Really needing a small car to fit in a parking space is the only one the Fit beats the Civic on.  The Civic also starts at like $24k which is pretty reasonable.  If Honda had actually continued

I’ve gotta say as motorcycle rider I’ve been into the return of the Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) design. The throwbacks are looking very similar to the Japanese bikes of the early to late 70's with all the modern comforts of fuel injection, real seat cushions, cruise control, and increased reliability. I had a

I worked at Lincoln when they stopped making the Continental and Towncar. I have seen the heartbreak of someone coming in to buy the same car they’ve driven for 30+ years cease to exist.  Old people know what they like and want that thing.

As an owner of a 4runner that has been around with minimal changes since the age of dinosaurs, I have a wait and see view of new cars.  It seems even Toyota can’t get a new model out without blowing up a few engines.  It’s impossible to determine reliability on a substantially new model.  It’s always going to be

I don’t disagree with anything you are saying. OEM’s just follow the sales as an indicator of what to do and the market for compact hatches (Yaris, Mazda 2, and Fit) just seemed to dry up so they quite investing in it. I love a 2 or 4 door hatch and wish there were more of them. Everyone seems to have moved up to the

Engines have been using 0w20 for a long time at this point and been fine.  This is an issue of metal shavings from the manufacturing process not getting removed.  Heavier oil and looser tolerances would not have saved these engines.

I think the problem came to be that the larger car (civic) started to surpass the fuel economy of the Fit while being better in every way.  Once superior fuel economy is out people tend to go for the bigger model.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the rear air suspension shares parts with the towncar which has plenty of parts availability. Any body parts I would imagine are rare as hens teeth. The Mark VIII also shared a platform with the Thunderbird so there should be some parts sharing there.

Have they addressed the issue with premature tire wear?  IIRC in the economy mode it would burn through the front tires because that camber was so aggressive.

They can get that price because they hold their value extremely well.  Same with Toyota.  What I’ve found is the move is to wait 3 years after a new model comes out and pick up the off lease cars that are CPO’d for a fraction of the new ones with the better or same warranty.  Since leases have a 12k/year limit on

With all the emphasis on off road capability and overlanding it does not really make sense to have those fancy floor mats.  Every 4Runner comes with rubber mats from the factory, as should these.

Is the Lexus NX350h too small?  They are based on the RAV4 platform.  The RX has gotten a bit too big and expensive for me so that is the model we are considering.
