My friend had an M30 hanging around for awhile.  Not sure if anyone I know still has one that I could pick up for cheap.  It would need an LSD rear end and maybe a stronger trans.  The engine out of the M5/M6 of this vintage would also fit but that’s just too much maintenance and 200hp would be more than enough in

NP I guess assuming whatever money you saved on buying an alternative would be put towards preventative maintenance.  I have a feeling at this mileage they are selling due to upcoming repairs.

For a Taycan to need a 3rd gear it’d probably have to do like 200mph or so, but I’ll let you know.

Fuel injection didn’t really suck pre-’96.  The 92-95 Honda Civic may be the best car made ever. Even without OBD2 it was stupid easy to diagnose. Hell I’d even say the the early Bosch Motronic systems weren’t that bad and other manufacturers diagnostic stuff is fine if you have the factory scan tool- which you can

I’ve been looking all over for a 2 speed manual Taycan.  You can only find them on craigslist

It’s an M30 swap away from being perfect. NP

Nope, A3 based on the same platform as the Golf/GTI looks to be a pre-2008 facelift model though so not what the OP has. Tail lights and front end changed in ‘08.

Better have some other VinX company buy some more to boost sales.

Yes, faster and more expensive. However there are also more restrictions on hazmat stuff for air too (which there’s a fair amount of in the racing world).  I imagine some of the items can only be shipped via container for that reason.

100 degrees in no shade- sounds like every roofing project I’ve done in the summer.  Slate and black EPDM are the worst.  White roofs are a whole thing where you get sunburned from underneath.  Sucks for the workers and hopefully they get paid, I just wish I did as well.

That’s what Honda does- see 1st and 2nd gen Passport and Acura SLX-both Isuzu’s.

In the 80's that was Ferrari territory.  Mid 8's would’ve been called “blistering speed”.

I thought the packaging was weird too.  It even has stud holes drilled in the front of the motor for... something?  Other manufacturers have found a way to add a frunk here (which you should since there’s no reason an electric motor has to be in the “engine bay”).

I was looking at the cab off picture of the RAM with the new Hurricane and that thing looks tucked in there. The turbos and what look to be a one piece down pipe take up a of the engine bay. Real afraid that some long term maintenance items will be cab off affairs. O2 bank 1 and 2, sensor 1 look especially fun to get

I’d like someone to throw out a Palladium edition.  If we have a Platinum we should have a Palladium.

Used to work in shipping- Having to air freight a car instead of shipping via container ship is outrageously more money like 5 to 10 times more money.  I’m sure that cost is worked out ahead of time if they planned initially to ship from the 24 hours of Daytona but if they didn’t that is a costly change of plans.

A lot of brands have their 4 door coupe crossovers.  Audi with the sportback, Mercedes GLC coupe, BMW X6 and X4 coupe.  I think they are just doing one of those to try to push the Mustang side of the design.

Believe me when I say sometimes as a tech you want it to be warranty. Most of the time you don’t because warranty work pays garbage, but in some cases you just feel bad for the owner because out of pocket expenses are outrageous. I had a Lincoln MKS brick itself because the BCM got corrupted. Couldn’t put the car in

I think the big recall on them overheating scared a lot of people off. Leave someone stranded or with their car dying once in the first month of ownership and that’ll lead to a lot of people not wanting to buy them.

I like my V8's uncorked.  Turbos add their own noise and actually act as somewhat of a muffler.  Compare a Mercedes TTV8 to an older AMG 63 and you’ll see what I mean.  Same with Audi that B7 S4 ringing at 8,000 RPM was something.
