In the South it is county by county. I live in the literal capital of the Confederacy and there are state inspections. They are not required in many of the surrounding counties which are a 5 minute drive from me.

Mitsubishi Eclipse.  They should not tarnish the brand cache of such a legendary nameplate.  It should be a proper 2 door coupe that handles well and has a decently powerful engine say like a 2.0T.  It’s a good thing Mitsubishi would never do anything to damage such a beloved model.  Same goes for the Mustang

I was also going to say the Miata aka MX-5.  The last existing OG analogue sports car would not be the same in anything other than NA ICE, RWD, manual.  Making it a heavy, AWD, single speed trans EV would be a travesty.

Yea look at the Image credit, its from Cupra.  Either they have a very unique wheel design or they need to fire their digital renderer.

I really regret them not putting this engine in the GX and going full send.  Tune it for my down low torque and let it rip.

Well name any of the luxury brands that carry a reliable NA V8 anymore?  Pretty much everyone has gone to a twin turbo V8 that looks like a bag of snakes once you pull the plastic panel off.  No one makes regular ol’ V8 coupes that make V8 noises and have V8 reliability except for Lexus.

Most OEM’s give you fix a flat and an air compressor and wish you luck.

I was talking literally yesterday about BMW’s choice to put run flats on everything (MINI included).  The super stiff sidewalls greatly impair traction and cornering.  Need a softer sidewall for better grip and road feel.

Most state inspections fail at 2/32".  4/32" is the manufacturer fail spec.  They would certainly recommend tires soon at 5/32" though.

When I was looking into tires for my 4Runner this was the problem. I personally use it on road trips but also to do some light offroading once we get to the destination (usually the beach in NC). So, I prioritize road noise, wet traction, handling, and wear. Every person online immediately puts on A/T tires when I was

I worked at a Mercury/Lincoln dealer for a bit and we serviced a fair amount of Ford Explorers. The ‘95-2001 came with these awesome 15x7 rims. Very light and with plenty of side wall to make them ride well. Plus they were pretty good offroad. Over the years you could see the sidewalls get smaller and the rims get

It’s just sad to see the slow death of a storied brand. But I guess that’s what they did with Plymouth and that’s what Ford did with Mercury. Just slowly reduce how many models they have until it reaches 0. If they wanted to keep having a van they could do what they did initially by having the Pacifica become the RAM

Anecdotally it seems like there are quite a few consumers that don’t want or won’t buy EV’s at this point. The reasons are too expensive, worries about charging, range, battery life, etc. It is in the best interest for manufacturers to sell consumers a product they want to buy and if consumers don’t want to buy EV’s-

Pretty soon we are going to be asking what models? The Charger, Challenger, Cherokee, Renegade, and 300 are gone. Chrysler sells only the Pacifica and whatever 300's are left.  I think the Durango will last until ‘25 then get replaced.  It seems like they are cancelling models without having the replacements ready to

How does that air filter come out?  Does it just slid straight out or do you need to undo a clasp somewhere?  Also what is that cross stitched material on the fire wall?  That’s some next level crazy to have the firewall match the interior.

Well now, it’s a good thing VW and it’s subsidiaries don’t have any historical cases of forced labor.  For example people being forced into work camps by an authoritarian government.

The business of business is business i.e. they will do the bare minimum that is legally required to meet regulation unless they have some idea that they need to build in additional requirements to meet future regulation. One thing of note is that if any regulations come out for additional monitoring that cost is going

There is also competition from in house. The Genesis G70 competes in this same segment and at around the same cost (or less).  A fully optioned Stinger looks like it’s knocking on S5 Sportback territory and I know which one I’m getting at that price.  I guess really the only value proposition is maintenance since it

I’ve seen some used engines that have compression test numbers for each cylinder which is a pretty good litmus test for the health of the base engine.  Some of the onboad software should be able to do somewhat of a health check on a cell by cell basis as they use that for powertrain and charging management.

I have no doubt a plant is going to be much more efficient and clean than a regular ol’ generator. One thing that is hard to factor in as far as cradle to the grave emissions is any leaks in the pipelines to the power generation plant. In my view that still counts as emissions in the same way a leaking fuel line in
