Mo’ heads mo’ problems. I’ve done a timing belt/water pump R&R on a SOHC subaru and it wasn’t bad, mainly due to how much room there is with a forward facing engine, although it seems silly to hold two cams in place on a SOHC 4 cylinder. However, on a DOHC wit 4 cams to hold steady on opposite ends of the block and

As the owner of a Mazda CX-5 I concur.  They have great styling and they seem to have better driving dynamics- on center road feel, feedback, etc. than other crossovers.  Also the 2.5T seems cool.

Yes EV fires are worse.  Harder to cool off, often reignite, require a shit ton of water, etc.

Here’s the section on PPE:

I think a lot of this comes down to who does the maintenance.  People with hybrids will continue to take their cars to whatever shop they took their previous non-hybrid vehicles, regardless of if they have the proper training.  When I worked for Ford we had to have a 10 ft radius around hybrids when put in the

That’s correct, however it is also replacing the distributor, HEI, or waste spark system (1 coil per 2 cylinder), making the diagnosis for most ignition misfires far easier. Depending on the model ignition coils can be a lot more reliable to. You typically don’t need to replace a coil unless it is causing a misfire.

I’ve worked on similar ram van’s and every one had the boots tear on the plug wire.  I had to use long needle nose pliers to pick pieces of the boot out so I could get the socket on the plug.  Removal the access cover isn’t hard.  Changing plugs inside a van in 100 degree weather is difficult though.

Spark plug wires. Need to be the correct length and resistance, need to be routed just the right way, put in the easily broken little plastic clips, and ran from the correct part of the ignition to the correct spark plug. Modern cars- unclip connector on ignition coil, remove one bolt, pull of coil, install in

I think there was another underlying issue with the headliner adhesive and that is that they break down when smoke is applied. If you were around in the 70's, 80's, and 90's you may have noticed many more people smoked in their cars. Smoke breaks down the adhesive which in turn leads to saggy headliners.

People are saying that the glass may open on its own, outward. Not a good idea to drive like that but at least you can pop it open and reach into the trunk cooler.

There’s mention that he put a M steering wheel on there, which I agree makes it sus since maybe the airbag went off.

The Kia EV6 starts at $40,900, Kia is certainly a brand I would put in cheap car territory. I don’t see a Tesla ever undercutting a Kia.  Tesla is a business and the business of a business is money. If you can sell a car which has much the same components of a cheap car for more money you do it.

I would also factor in (anecdotally at least) people commute less due to changes towards teleworking. The cost of gas has less of an impact if you are not going to and from work everyday. I think a lot of people trading in their commuter vehicles for something larger to use more for traveling and long trips aka a

A big hurdle to overcome is that CX-9's depreciate off a cliff. The main reason is the known waterpump failure issue that causes catastrophic engine failure. (coolant leaks from the pump into the crankcase). My neighbor had one fail and was SOL when the mechanic told her it would need a new engine.

I’m going to continually post this on every article about the Sequoia:  It no longer has the roll down rear window which was one of its biggest selling features.  Please keep it on the next gen 4runner!

1939 was the last public one, and Sir Christopher Lee was in attendance!

I’ll go with HID headlights. The old headlight design worked as such: bulb burned out (usually the filiment), replace bulb, headlight works again.  With HID’s: try to diagnose if it is the $700 headlight assembly or the $300 ballast, remove either part, hope that it was the right part and not the other one.  Either

In the old days cars had presets, usually 2 sometimes more. When my dad who is 6'1" got in the car he pressed 1 and it would move the seat and mirrors accordingly. Likewise, when my mom who is 5'3" got in the car and pressed 2 it would move the seat up and change mirrors once again.  It really should be that simple.

Don’t know with the center wiper like that I don’t see how it could go down or out.  My guess is the wiring comes up from the bottom of the tailgate for the motor.

I don’t hate it, however I wish the all electric mode could go up to a reasonable speed like 25mph for around town.  Specifically in areas where the speed limit is 20mph like Ocracoke, NC so the gas engine doesn’t have to kick on to go an extra 2mph.
