I see the Atkinson cycle get mentioned a lot since it is a common thing on hybrid engines, but have you heard about Mazda’s 2.3 supercharged V6 (KJ-ZEM) with the Miller Cycle? I would love to see an article on alternatives to the Otto cycle.

Brake fluid can go up to a really high temp so keeping it cool is not much of an issue.  I have never seen washer fluid freeze as it has a lot of alcohol in it.

My friend has had several E28's and they are truly wonderful cars.  That being said this is too much for this one.  The body seems to be a really good shape for the vintage though.

I used to daily a 2.0 6-spd manual mazda 3.  That bad boy could fit so much stuff and still get over 38 mpg all day.

analogue voltmeters can be really handy. When doing a “wiggle” test sometimes you miss the digital mm’s dropping the voltage as it can take a second for the display to catch up to actual. A analogue one makes it easy to see when the needle pegs 0v after an intermittent open then swing back to 12v when the circuit

Yea a more weird or unique would be an amp clamp multimeter, I have one to test amp output of things without frying the fuse on the ammeter by putting the dmm inline as one would normally to test amperage on high amp circuits (alternators).

Truly the best test is available voltage (one lead on ground, one lead one power to load).  If voltage is more than lets say .3 v different from source power there is some resistance there.  Example: source voltage (battery) is 12.6v, available voltage to a headlamp is 9v.  That indicates a 3.6 voltage drop aka high

As many assaults on airplanes there have been in recent years, they better start paying them more.  Also, people are way more drunk around the holidays.

There is a single point failure for the shift linkage in dodge dakotas.  There is a little clip that can pop off causing the rod that slides through a hole on the trans side to come off.  I was filling up gas and the truck would not start (truck thought it was in gear so neutral safety switch would not let truck turn

Agreed, having induction would render all my cast iron obsolete and I’d basically have to replace everything I own to buy induction friendly cookware. Not to mention living in constant fear of damaging the cooking surface by setting something to hard on it and cracking it. Oh yea and I’ve had things boil over on

The Netherlands also has honest to goodness bike roads that are the size of car lanes. In the U.S. bikers usually have ride close to the shoulder in the SAME lane as cars and there is no dedicated bike lane and no separation between car traffic and bike traffic.  A bike is treated like a car in the Netherlands.  If

“However as the day goes on I start to wonder if there’s a leak on the damaged wheel”

A lot of what you are paying for is toyota reliability (real or perceived) which in turn lead to higher resale value. You can sell a 4runner for what you bought it for 2 years later, if it is a TRD pro you might even be able to sell it for more than you bought it for. The 4runner and Taco just do not depreciate. The

TBH it not being modern is one of its biggest selling points.  There are people who want the newest great gadgets and people who want stuff to just work.  The 4runner just works.  It has port fuel injection, its body on frame, it basically is a truck in a world of stretched crossovers.  The features are old but

It is a side by side with 650hp and seating for 4.  That is noteworthy.

What a pleasant daily! Do you have the 6-disc cd changer under the armrest, also the flip out phone? I always found it weird BMW put the cd changer in the trunk.

This thing is begging for an LS swap NP

Kind of interesting that Ford really wanted to prove how good the ecoboost was and to showcase it in offroad racing and yet... they use a 5.0 V8 in this.  Is that something to do with race regulations or is Ford just finally caving that the V8 might be the more reliable option.

I agree, make it like BMW full M and M-sport.  The F-sport could be an appearance package with some minor performance upgrades (cold air intake, sportier tires, exhaust, stiffer bushings, sway bar, stuff like that).

Versace was murdered by a psychopath serial killer.  Gucci was killed by a hitman hired by his ex-wife.  I feel that’s a big distinction.
