No way that roof is making it in to production.  Put that thing in the Arizona sun for 10 minutes and that car is a microwave.

Had one as a rental in Utah and drove it 5.5 hours across the desert to a wedding outside Jackson Hole. I looked at how much it cost to fly into Jackson Hole and looked at what it cost to fly to Utah and rent a car and went with that (saved like $200 or something crazy). I slept in the back for a bit when I got there.

The panther platfrom (town car, crown vic, grand marquis). It is ubiquitous in American culture as a taxi and limo, cop car, and municipal transport. It was the last body on frame sedan sold in America, also solid rear axle! With the air suspension they are smooth as butter. When it was 95 degrees in the shop the best

This is cool but still can’t replace my single cab dakota witha n 8' bed.  Gotta have 8' for me.

The SRT-4's were beasts at the track.  I remember them going toe to toe with evo’s and sti’s and winning.

Saturn sky/Pontiac solstice available with a reliable and decently powerful engine and a manual trans and convertible!  Also available with a supercharged and later turbocharged engine with plenty of power.  I’ll also allow the cobalt ss and the dodge neon srt-4.  I’ve seen srt-4’s put down some pretty impressive

I would hope the nickasil V8's that cracked would also get a dishonorable mention, however they didn’t so I’m throwing that in too.

4agze no shit-Jesse from fast and furious voice.

The XS650's shook like hell on the highway, great cafe and round town bike though.  Very reliable and fast enough for what they were.  The triples I love though.  I owned a ‘79 XS750.  They are rock solid bikes that are great sport cruisers similar to BMW’s.

Mk4 with the VR6 was peak fun for VW: cool styling, torquey engine, wonderful transmission, good handling. The reliability sucked though.

This is the least exciting car I’ve seen in a long time.

I do truly love the XSR900 but the OG XS750 was shaft drive and air cooled. A true poor mans BMW. Also mine was in a weird burgundy that I want them to bring back.  The picture is not mine but it has the same basic set up.  Dual discs up front and a rear disc plus shaft drive in the late 70's was pretty revolutionary

This looks awesome. Now give me a 3 cylinder shaft drive XS750 version.

That’s good to hear.  I conceptually like the dual injector system as my big fear around DI is the excessive carbon build up and the need to clean the valves (see audi and bmw carbon deposits).  It also makes sense for cold start-ups to reduce emissions.  My worry is long term if there will be any weird issues with

I have a feeling the 4oohp one will be in the $40's and they will come out with a lower tier model with around 300hp in the low $30's

Have you had any issues with the dual injection system? Also have you had any of the notorious valve spring problems with the top end? Is there a timing tool to hold the cams in place for when you do the timing chain tensioner, guides, water pump etc.? I’d be worried one of the cams moving once the slack is taken out

Honestly I’m sure both are nightmares to work on.  One is a twin turbo V6 (lots of plumbing lots of electronics) and the other is a DOHC boxer 4 with two types of fuel injection.  The only plus side is they both have timing chains.

You say basic, I say has two different forms of fuel injection (port and direct aka Toyota’s D-4S system) also DOHC on a boxer engine means 4 cams to time which is fun when the chain tensioner and water pump need to be changed. I’m sure the accessibility to spark plugs is also a joy since it’s a boxer engine slung

I know it’s not going to happen but Genesis has the engines right now and hyundai has former BMW M division people, so maybe bring back the Genesis coupe with a stick?
