Actually, this is what clearly separates those games apart as gambling. When you open an item from one of these machines, they are yours to own and do with as you please. By physically owning the item, that separates it from gambling.

It doesn’t matter if its competitive advantage or not. Just like Battlefront 2, Overwatch uses loot boxes as a progression system. The only way to earn anything in Overwatch is by opening loot boxes. You cannot earn credits through normal gameplay. This alone can constitute a form of gambling.
That’s where I disagree. Loot boxes are the only form of progression in Overwatch as playing the game nets you nothing otherwise. Your reward for collecting experience is unlockables that are only acquired through loot boxes, thus making it the sole measurement of progression in the game. If the currency was earnable…
The problem is that you already paid $60 for what should be a full game. If you’re charging in additional $20 for DLC. You’re already double dipping on your customers. That has been the case with AAA games for a while now.
The problem with this comes with the ownership of the items. Pokemon cards are yours to own, digital items in video games are not. This separates them from physical trading card games and makes loot boxes more like casinos that make you exchange your cash for chips before you play. The items you earn can only be sold…
The big difference comes in the form of physical card games, the physical card from the pack you earn is yours to keep. Either way, you paid for the physical pieces of cards.
Overwatch skins die because they’re only in seasonal events
If the game was fine with it for a week, there’s no reason why it should be a problem now. The only thing that even touched the game directly is Geforce Experience.
I highly doubt it. Destiny 2's false flags are completely idiotic. People are getting flagged for no apparent reason. High performance in Crucible matches are getting banned (mostly caused by terrible matchmaking). People are getting dropped in the middle of Strikes and Leviathan and getting banned for it.
Give it some time. There’s still more people getting banned so it still might reach you.
The problem is that Bungie already admitted that a lot more than 4 people were unbanned. If you read the bottom of that post, it says an unknown number of additional players were unbanned afterwards in addition to the original 4. The fact that they did not reveal how many tells me that it was a large enough number…
Blizzard has nothing to do with Bungie’s cheat detection. If they used Blizzard’s it would be much better and we would not be getting this many assertions of false flags. Blizzard generally has people actually review their bans before they actually do it. On top of that, I never got a single suspension or ban from…
Give it some time. The numbers are gradually increasing.
I got banned for no reason in the middle of a solo mission with no explanation why. The game had been running fine for a week with no problems and then suddenly I got booted from the game and informed I was banned. The worst part is, they refuse to allow appeals or communicate. Now, I’m out $100 with no explanation.…
For me, minimaps are a must. It gives you a sense of direction and the ability to know where you are going. In a game like Destiny 2 where it normally isn’t present, I find myself constantly having to open it to see where I am going despite how small most of their areas are.
This is ultimately the problem with many games, especially the modern ones. Eventually, support for them is lost and it makes it impossible to play these games because they require a constant online connection.
FPS games are terrible for spectators. The constant swap between first person, third person, and various players makes it confusing and hard to know what is going on at any given moment. They already had some third person cameras, but it is limited.
I would say not very hyped. The main SMT series is significantly different from the Persona entries of the game. It is likely going to be like SMT4 with a order, chaos, and neutral ending depending on a few options you make during the game with not much of a story to support it. That could always change though.
I disagree with this. FF11 and FF14 are good examples of where Microsoft screwed up big with attempting to earn the favor of the Japanese developers. It revealed some of the insane things that the console versions of the game needed to have in order to get it onto the system and why many Japanese developers just flat…
The biggest problem I have is that it is longer just playing to unlocking extra things anymore. They’re making you pay for unlocks now. Loot boxes are the same except they make it even worse by forcing you to gamble to unlock.
