You are literally arguing to protect child groomers. The whole reason MS is doing this is to make their product COPPA compliant, which due to new additions to COPPA, requires that any product that is used by children must make appropriate attempts to moderate its community, or else not allow children to use said

Not how it works, but believe what ever you want. This doesn’t really affect me cause I’m not trying to groom children online using Minecraft.

COPPA. It’s a huge reason Youtube has changed a lot of how it handles content meant for kids. It was updated in 2013, and there is talks about it being updated further.

Lol, fine man. But you seriously have no clue what you’re talking about. It’s insanely hard for a lawyer to get disbarred, it’s extremely rare. A lawyer doesn’t care how stupid the case is, so long as they get paid. And they get paid win or lose. A lawyer doesn’t get disbarred for losing a case. Get the fuck out of

It doesn’t matter if there is specific laws or not, dude. You can be sued for anything. Liability often doesn’t mean you being directly responsible for something, it means you being involved; in anyway, with a crime enough to be pulled into legal proceedings.

That’s why Apple having to respond to Subpoenas counts as a

Just because you find a law stupid doesn’t make it go away. And subpoena’s are absolutely related, why wouldn’t they be? They have to comply with subpoena, otherwise they could face legal liability charges for ignoring it. Why do you think Drug Dealers use Burner Phones?

They DO own the Verification servers, please stop ignoring that fact.

Buy the software. Again, you’re not buying MS’s verification servers. You can do what ever you want with the software, you can’t do what ever you want with servers you don’t own. I feel you keep ignoring that.

That WAS my point, jesus you’re dumb.

If you set up a server that doesn’t rely on MS verification server, than this is a non-issue. But so long as the private server is using MS verification server, they can ban your online account for what ever reason they damn well please, because you don’t have a right to their

You own a copy of the game, not to their verification servers. You can play the game offline all you want, but they can ban your online account for what ever they damn well please, because it’s their servers. Don’t like it, make a server that doesn’t use their account verification servers.

It is, what’s your point?

Apple does have liability. That’s why they hand over call, and texting data when the FBI requests it. God you’re fucking dumb.

THAT’S HOW LAWS WORK YOU GOD DAMN NITWIT.

Yes I know little data is stored locally, I don’t know what the hell point you’re even making. Important account data is stored on MS servers, not local servers. Which is still not a lot of data, but it’s still running through MS servers for account verification. That was literally my point. But again you idiots keep

I love this ‘quote’, and saving this image for myself, lmao.

It’s depressing to see how hard it is for people to follow the idea of “don’t be an asshole”. I never read the ToS, but usually can assume that the concept of “don’t be an asshole” is the general jist when ever I’m playing something online.

No one reads the EULA, and than bitch and moan about agreeing to rules that they don’t want to follow.

Seriously. These guys have no idea what they’re talking about, they’re just having childish tantrums, and trying to justify it. Like I do agree that ‘this sucks’, but ultimately it’s a liability issue, and a case of a lot of bad apples ruining the bunch. And work arounds do exist, but MS needs to legally protect

Lmao, there is no way account verification is done locally, that’d be a huge security risk as it would require users to save their passwords to their accounts on these private servers.

And if there is an option to disable verification, than there is an option to opt out of all this and truly run a server privately.

You just confirmed exactly what I’ve been saying, good job smart guy. Make a server that bypasses MS authentication, and handle the user data yourself. Than it will truly be a private server.
