Indeed. I take a commuter train, and theres always a large group fo schoolkids (50+) that boards halfway through and ruins the tranquility. It always makes me feel like the prudish member of some elite neighbourhood thats been invaded by the sticks.

Wow - a superpowerful and superuseful device that only the govt has access to? Police persecuting all citizens that try to use this device themselves? If this were a science fiction movie this guy would be a hero fighting the evil autocratic govt of a socially-dystopian high tech society.

I think a better comparison would be between a computer screen and a glossy magazine. Until they have the same resolution we're still going to need more progress.

Well, I have been kinda looking for a tablet the shape of a box.

I agree with you, but then again I thought the same thing on the name "iPad". We'll get used to it.

So this guy was unemployed, lived in a poor neighbourhood, and his mother's dead. I don't agree with Anonymous and Lulzsec at all and am happy to see it persecuted, but I don't think its at all right to vilify or jest him. Ha ha ha, he liked cars and called himself a federal agent.

I think the lease of .tv to a private company may have made it seizable.

Or plugging a floppy drive into a modern computer, placing a DVD player on top of a VCR, storing CDs and tapes on the same shelf, using antique radios and gramophones as decoration in your TV room...

Umm, i don't think anybody's going to be watching those 35mms anymore...

By the time this tech is viable its a good assumption the price will be lower.

It'd be pretty hard to use the iPad without a bezel. But on the ther hand, you can always just get a cheaper case or cover that provides an external bezel, so this is still a good idea.

Wouldn't this be an issue mostly for games, which tend to be large anyway? Correct me if I'm wrong of course, but I'd have figured that for most apps a retina display would mostly just mean better renderings of text and non-pictographical photo elements, as well as clearer representations at broader zooms of pics that

I was banking on this only becoming possible in about 2080.

Well, windows already has voice control, though in windows 7 its not really that good. I'm assuming its been improved for windows 8.

I have an iPad now, but looking at that video I'm thinking that maybe my next tablet should be windows 8.

Why couldn't they simply integrate the old desktop into the new Metro interface, or at least give it the same visual style?

I don't get all the pjazz over TV boxes. Most people have laptops today, right? So why don't they just plug it into the TV with HDMI?

I'm lucky my grandparents lived in shit-poor Portuguese hamlets where I'm assuming they didn't use chemicals.

Me, it's the size of my index finger, so no, gorilla-thumbs.
