I’m old, but not too old to remember when flying was a big deal, a privilege. I was five when I went on my first flight with mom, dad and little brother to visit grandma and grandpa in California. She dressed us up and my dad took pictures of us in our little coats and hats. We were expected to be on our best behavior

Agreed. Lifetime ban from air travel on any carrier, anywhere, would be a lovely fitting punishment. Flight attendants and passengers have a right to be protected from violent losers like this woman.

I was flying for business on a transatlantic flight and one seat a few rows up was double-booked. It was a couple and they were pretty upset at the prospect of not travelling together, and then they and the flight attendants were monolinguals in different languages. I spoke both languages, so I translated and

My friend was terrified during voting back in November after she asked if the unmasked man behind her in line could kindly give her 6' for social distancing she asked twice adding she has has a disease that has left her immuno-compromised and it wasn’t personal, she was just trying to be safe. He cussed her out and

I assume “brodozer” is a pickup? Love it.

Around the holidays last year I had to make a quick trip to the mall to make some returns. I usually over-order online (hard to know your size!) and have a LOT of stuff to return and am both extremely embarrassed and overly apologetic about it to whatever poor sales associate has to deal with my giant bag of items. I

Stupidest thing about these people is that if you’re cool with 99% of flight attendants they make your trip a breeze (as much as they can on today’s flying cattle cars). I’ve gotten free food, booze, and great conversations, all because I did the ever so shocking thing of treating someone like a human being.

Conservativism at least used to pretend to be about “cut taxes, small government, religion in public life” and other stupid things like that....but now they have no platform besides “Be a Belligerent Obstructive Dipshit.”

Enjoy Greyhound!

Nearly every noun in that sentence carries with it an expectation of a fistfight.

Yeah, I saw that the perpetrator was going with the “self-defense” argument. Problem is, now that the video is out, it doesn’t really back up her claims.

Nailed it. I’ve been having this conversation with my wife a lot lately. People have become IRL internet trolls.

I’m wondering if this is related to the rise of extra-shitty restaurant customers. Most reasonable people cut back on eating out and flying, so the people who are left are disproportionately terrible.

how about the no parachute list?  They can fly, they just have to get out before the plane lands.

My lady friend has often talked about how Trump stoked hatred and anger in this country. I’ve always downplayed it, because while I believe he has done that with the MAGA crowd and the racists, I didn’t think one person, even POTUS, could get average Americans so angry at each other. I might be wrong.

I’m curious about all the comments that talk about this as a necessary part of the job though no one seems to know if she has a contract to be there.

I’m curious because I can’t see any way in which it should be necessary or in a contract. Entertainers of any kind owe us nothing beyond the entertainment.

We don’t need

99% chance he brings his own ziploc bag to take home the leftover nuts when he leaves.

I assumed his only real complaint was, as a Vermonter, he couldn’t get wake up calls at 4 a.m.

99% chance he brings his own ziploc bag to take home the leftover nuts when he leaves.

Now playing

Leaving this here. To anyone says being antagonized is “part of the job” for fame, success, making big money, blah blah blah you’re missing the point. Some journalists are out to provoke because the bad/nasty reaction gets the headline. It’s a manipulative move and journalism can exist with integrity without it.
