Yeah, it went Odelay, Mutations, MV, SC. I just put Mutations second because it seems like another maligned Beck album. And another one I like way way more than SC.

For me, I ended up listening to Sea Change right after discovering Eels' Electro-Shock Blues. And for me, E and Beck have similar… registers, I guess? And the thing that always stuck with me is that Electro-Shock Blues is an album written after E's ENTIRE FAMILY DIED, and it ends up having an arc, ending with the…
For reals. IMHO, Midnite Vultures kicks Sea Change's ass. Then Mutations comes around and kicks Sea Change's ass again.
That's a good point. Rigby might be a great character, but a voice of reason he's not. (and, well, Rigby's almost always a bit of an asshole, too, so, yeah.)
FWIW, the use of the Friend Zone is what kinda dragged this one down for me a bit. Mainly a'cause it's usually total assholes who use the term. Admittedly, I think Rigby was going for a slight re-definition… less "I am nice and therefore she owes me sex", of course, but more just… "You'll stay as Just Friends, Which…
I've told Todd on Twitter. I don't think AVC email addresses are public, so yeah. Hopefully he saw my tweet/will see.
…I have it.
I don't have Spotify and I'm too lazy to check in iTunes, but is this along the same lines as the Blue Bob album he did with John Neff? That was pretty cool and would fit the "Modern Blues" description…
AWESOME? OR KING AWESOME?
Ah, that does make more sense. It's been, like, about 15 years since I read it..8)
The PKD mention in the first is funny, as there's also a PKD story that's very similar to the Little People; in it, there's a, like, Time-Condenser Tunnel thing that some scientists are working on and the protagonist of the story is chosen to test it out, to use it to get to work — which would normally be, like, an…
Aw, man, so it's NOT good? The Kids' Cartoon By Committee thing makes me SO SAD. Because you see it so often, and it never actually seems to make anything good, and I just don't… get… why you'd want to make something that way.
I'm glad to hear this is pretty good, but the couple of trailers I saw — 15 second spots, basically made it look like a complete Regular Show ripoff (complete with the only dialogue in the spot being a character doing the Mordo/Riggs "Yeaah-uh!!" thing… which I know RS didn't invent, but much like the "OOOO-OHHHHH"…
I was waiting for another Emophiliac to make that joke.
Yeah, I kept doing that too — "wait, since when is Carl not a native Springfieldianite?"
…I dunno, I think the parody of the parody still counts as padding.
I kinda go between "Majestic" and "Cannibal Summer". Both of those songs are mindblowingly good.
Yeah, seriously. If anyone's not sold, I did a review of it here:

I concur. The scrubbing joke made me so very happy. The scrubbing joke was its own little James Baxter.
It was the 2nd comeback from the Superfans.
