The Matrix trilogy is a trans narrative through and through, and when viewed that way in the context of the late 90's/early 00's era where it existed many of the problems and issues disperse.

I mean, TGP knows full-well what it is. Hence how they reboot in a world-affirming way every season. Season 1 was a “gotcha” style sitcom with an essentially brilliant turn; season 2 is a scrappy underdog scooby-gang adventure comedy; season 3 will be something a little different.
