People don’t pick their families. It’s complicated when you love your parent or sibling but don’t agree with their actions. Josh has always seemed like a bit of a black sheep, and he and Karlie are a cute couple. Best of luck to them.

Spotify’s response isn’t entirely surprising considering, despite marketing themselves as a progressive company, the majority of their management is white men.
It really took my breath away when I read it this morning. He was someone who you kind of thought had made it through the rough times and was using what he learned to help other people.
Aside from the books and his own personality, his way of looking at different cultures through the lens of their food was so well done. Food is one of the few things that binds us all together, and his way of relating his culinary findings and the people behind them to larger world events was so impactful. Nothing was…
Yes, Spotify can do more, but I think that you’re overstating just how much they can do. There is an intricate web of partnerships and contracts behind what shows up on that main page when you open the app - I’ve seen what the Spotify relationship looks like from the artist’s side, and it’s pretty crazy.
There is no comparison between having the power of a major label and/or an established artist promoting you versus being able to put your music on CDBaby. Women are not signed to labels and not mentored in the same way that men are. Yes, a small handful of artists make it purely on their own, but they are outliers.…
This is not really a problem with Spotify specifically. This is a problem with the music industry. Unless you are an 18 year old pop star in a tiny skirt whose every move is dictated by your label, you’re going to find that the vast majority of the artists who are getting active support and being promoted to streaming…
This. Aside from the whole irritating pitting two women against each other thing, Kate got married in effing Westminster Abbey. Not that Windsor isn’t lovely and grand, but like...every British monarch since literally the year 1066 has been crowned at Westminster. You bet your butt you’re gonna need to show up in one…
Sure, some passing biracial individuals want to let go of their blackness and that’s fine for them.
Out of curiosity, are you biracial? Because being biracial, to many of us, means your feet are firmly planted in both of your racial identities. She can still identify with blackness while being biracial, and I think that the elements she chose today show that it is a strong part of her identity.
I’m very curious to see if she can hold on to that through her growth spurts.
I’m glad you enjoyed our city! For what it’s worth, I have lived here for 10 years and still have the feeling that I’m getting to only 20% of what I want to do here every week. It’s one of the reasons why I consider my ridiculously high rent worth every penny :)
This is true. Also reminds me of the guy who tried to tell me I was nuts for not letting him sit on my bed in his street clothes. Needless to say, that relationship did not last long.
I AM HERE FOR THIS. ALL OF IT.
Probs with some sort of trap door that drops the intruder down into a dungeon in the basement.
I’m actually kind of impressed, because HG is a bitch...
While I don’t think that is necessarily the takeaway we should have from this, it actually makes sense that stalkers target celebrities whose brand is appearing normal. It makes them accessible and safe, and, y’know, why wouldn’t the girl next door want to be with you, when she’s just a normal girl and you’re just a…
Holy shit, that is scary (and not necessarily something I think is appropriate to joke about...).
Er, last time I checked there is room for more than one female rapper. The men don’t wait to take turns, so why would we expect the women to?
What I find funny is that I know white people who use the brown emojis (which I think is stupid, but if I got mad at every micro-aggression I’d be constantly exhausted at this point), but my brown family - particularly the women - often use the lighter emojis because for their culture, the lighter the better.
