I don't know. Besides the women who live in areas around our word that don't even have access to these products, most of us, including me a poor person should be taxed. I'm only saying this because our tampons and pads contribute to the destruction of our Eco system. Most of us have the knowledge: diva cup, soft cups,

Honestly, I just can’t get excited about repealing “tampon taxes.” I live in a state where everything (except, oddly, newspapers and magazines) is subject to the state sales tax. I don’t see the reason for tampons to receive an exemption when other basic necessities (food, medicine, toilet paper, etc.) are also taxed.

Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and New Jersey also don’t have a tampon tax. So between this and the states that don’t have sales tax there are 38 states left to go. Which is still 38 too many.

Isn’t it the opposite though? If you are in a position where you can work for no pay, someone else is covering your expenses, meaning you’re not desperate like someone who actually has to make money is.

Alternatively, D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E. The job market is bleak:(

There is no way getting an article published on a commercial website is legal for an unpaid intern.

When you read the history of women’s competition in the Olympics (barred from entering more than 3 events; distance limits, etc) and then you see this silly sport still on the docket, it really makes you wonder what the Olympics are all about.

Also marry another real estate heir?

It’s amazing to me that anyone still puts up with the scam of unpaid internships. Too many people, from the interns themselves to the (for-profit) companies that employ them, don’t understand that unpaid internships are largely illegal under the DoL’s Fair Labor Standards Act. In order for an unpaid internship to be

The fact they have to have a straight leg when impacting the ground is why it looks so goofy. I agree with you that it’s a very intense activity and pushes the human body to it’s limits. I would like to see it removed from the Olympics.

Easy solution - all she needs is a very small loan from her father of about $1 million to tide her over...

As a previous pole vaulter (years ago - non professional) you can just feel it when you aren’t going to make it - it looks like he made that realization and decided not to exert the extra effort.

It looks painful too, the way they move their hips like that.

CNBC aired Shark Tank reruns all night!

Harry Doyle thinks that was juuuuuust a bit short

Do the people forced to launch a discus in the rain get to try again later? That would be total bullshit if not.

This is a good reminder that most Olympic dreams end in disappointment and pain, though few more than in this story.

Re: number 2, that shit happens all the time and even the US does it. I remember a recent winter Olympics were some Canadian ice skater had her US citizenship fast tracked so she could compete. As an immigrant who is still waiting on citizenship, that shit pissed me off.

Country switching is pretty common, and the US would do it more if it were smaller. Think how quickly Freddy Adu became the future of American soccer before he became the present of mediocre soccer.

2) On CBC, they had a guy in who was mentioning that last night’s 100m could have been all-Jamaican, because of how many Jamaican runners had found other countries to get passports from, and how fast they all were. So the country-shopping to get into the Olympics still occurs.
