I went into reading this really hoping we were misinterpreting it. Like, just maybe, he was saying he shouldn’t have to see it because homelessness shouldn’t exist, because we as a society should be better than this! We should have better public assistance programs, more affordable housing (plus why the hell is SF so…
Before you moved in, did your downstairs neighbor have the worst meat pies in London? San Francisco?
There’s been a few responses to this letter but this one is my favorite (H/T Backtalk).
Looking at homeless people IS gross but I don’t see him putting forth any solutions. Luckily I actually have a plan for that problem!!!
He shouldn’t have to see it, they shouldn’t have to live it, it’s tough breaks all around.
“I shouldn’t have to see the pain, struggle, and despair of homeless people to and from my way to work every day.”

FTR my theory is that his armpits chafe.
There’s so much more to Stonehenge (and many old archaelogical sites) than meets the eye. I remember having my mind blown when I watched this PBS documentary about it, because I always thought it was just a bunch of rocks that lined up with celestial bodies/events, and that was all there was to it.
THIS. So much. I wondered if I was the only person who actually read TKAMB to begin with, because it’s right there in the text.
