Someday a company is going to get cloud gaming right. But Amazon or Google should have partnered with a gaming publisher that understood the waters. Instead they just threw a ton of money into an area they had no experience in with management that had no knowledge about the gaming industry and then quickly pulled the Read more

Google’s own reputation for being cancel-happy on new projects represented a significant barrier to entry for me. I did take advantage of their “free” Stadia Pro bundle for YouTube Premiu subscribers to get a controller and Chromecast Ultra though.

Yes, actually, that is what the phrase means. Salting the earth was a method of putting down so much salt in an area that it killed off all plants and made it a struggle for anything to thrive there for a period of time. Some invading tribes would do it just to be dicks to any survivors left behind in raids. It is Read more

Dead by Daylight started out somewhat inexpensive and has been adding paid DLC packs ever since.

Based on various reports, it sounds like Respawn negotiated a very favourable deal with EA that gives them much greater autonomy and creative control versus other studios (including BioWare), so they can just get on with stuff versus dealing with corporate drama (unsurprising given their experience with Activision).

I have a hard time seeing that. EA seems to have very high revenue expectations for their AAA games and oftentimes those require significant ongoing revenue sources such as live service content or multiplayer microtransactions. Heck, even DA4 is supposed to have some live service elements based on some info from a Read more

1: I find the Wendy’s spicy chicken to have a chemical aftertaste. Generally, I’d say McDonald’s has more in common with Wendy’s than it does with Popeyes.

2: I’d say they’re equally spicy, but it’s been months since I’ve had a spicy McNugget. I don’t think Wendy’s or Popeyes’ spicy chicken has any heat at all, so Read more

I’m happy McDonald’s didn’t try a second breading, because they’d just screw it up. Popeyes sticks to one thingchickenand does it well. McDonald’s does too many things, and doesn’t need to make things more complicated than they need to be. Give me one solid base model and let me jazz it up as I see fit. There’s a Read more

I am disappointed to hear that the spice aspect in the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich comes merely from a sauce rather than it being in the breading. That’s just lazy engineering. Read more

YouTube compression and monitor you view it on matters a ton though. On my 3440x1440 screen DLSS destroys image quality, I never use it unless absolutely required (like Cyberpunk 2077 running at 30 fps on a 3080 without it).

yeah, digital foundry explains it super well. some small thin objects like hair, power lines, and text actually look even better. it’s really amazing. i really don’t like nvidia but until amd comes up with something roughly comparable i can’t see going anywhere else when i upgrade.
