It’s so ironic because AFAIK their blacklisting isn’t because of the reviews, but from their reporting a long time ago??

Yes, those are valid but Riot’s stuff gets regularly leaked all the time? Skins, event, the MMO etc. It’s definitely true that cheat makers will love this, but AFAIK it’s pretty hard to cheat in LoL while getting away with it for long. The replay feature makes it pretty hard to do that. Maybe those reasons made them…
Maybe this would have been a more viable tactic back in the days when source codes were a big deal. But nowadays? I’m struggling to see the blackmail potential from this considering these companies probably have many copies of their own code. Also middleware is pretty big now and the industry is so monetized I struggle…
I bet you a sale would probably make them way more money than a price increase. Seven years after release, they’ve surely made back their investment, especially considering they’re an indie dev?
Right? And Ethan’s weird jab at the Fed is even more distracting. This is 100% going to happen to Activision after Microsoft buys them. It’s standard procedure now.
Jeff’s a skeptic. He’s not negative. Those are two very different things. Even when Ryan was there, he was skeptical.
I just realized Ubisoft has been simultaneously developing two games (BG&E2/Skull & Bones) in development hell. What in the hell is going on over there? Microsoft should have bought Ubisoft out cause they’re definitely trending towards bad times, again*.
Are people excited for this game? The minute I saw it, I thought it looked so hokey. Silly even, if the first paragraph on the Steam page is anything to go by.
The companies made the software. It’s them enabling people downwind to profit from stolen work.
Is it so hard to understand that artists want to be compensated for use of their works? Companies (ahem High on Life) are literally using(stealing) artists own works to train an app so they won’t have to pay artists.
So...you’re saying an online multiplayer game is grindy? That’s certainly not a theme with multiplayer online games!
I dunno man; the gameplay loop of GTA probably describes 95% of AAA games, even nowadays.
Lol, this guy is quite the performer.
Aka the Ubisoft open world sandbox. Their open world design is so infamous it’s been immortalized by a name in pop culture. Reddit has scores of people disillusioned by the way they make their open world games. It’s an impressive accomplishment, even if it is negative.
That part at the end is what always gets me. White people, or westerners in general, seem to want to be a part of whatever collective they admire or fetishize, but don’t want to carry the water when it really matters. Claiming something is one thing, and living it is something on a completely different level. I guess…
I was often able to just alt-tab to my browser and listen the scene play out which was fun.
I totally forgot about that game! I really wanted to play it back then, but it was exclusive. I’ll probably pick it up sometime soon since it’s cheap now.
I really wish Publishers would understand that laughing counts as having fun too. Also you can buy that Deadpool game anymore? Huh?!
The world needs more comedy-themed triple a games, yes. This used to be a thing before the current era of super serious triple a shooter games! And the decline of that in and of itself is a big bummer. Someone should tell the EA types it’s okay for a game’s main goal to be comedy-focused.
I dunno, applying age to something that lacks it is an extremely abstract and weird argument to have.
