The Syphon Filter reboot makes sense when you realize John Garvin co-made that series, and was at Bend at the time. But the PS5 reddit had some really good discussions about why DG2 never had a chance, and yeah it makes a ton of sense:

Most of you are probably too young to get this, but to me this sounds like one of those ActiVision Value titles that you’d see at the local Walmart (in the boxed games section!) and it’s like ten bucks. I mean, this is pretty much that right? Like, why is this getting so much press?
Why is he so damn salty about this? Making news of another studio’s success about you just screams a-hole vibes.
Apparently it happened on David Jaffe’s podcast.
His leadership style is one that frequently sees months of other people’s work discarded at his whim.
Social Media was a mistake.
The internet rarely has any meaningful impact on the general public’s purchasing habit. I know we like to think Twitter and social media are a decent 1 to 1 for the real world, but it really isn’t. Even after the massive mess that was 2077's launch, they still made money after the fact.
Okay, this is good Kinja.
FYI they got rid of the dev response on reddit, LOL.
I honestly don’t think it’s that. These guys are no longer with the company, so the obligation to them is no longer there, & they’d basically be promoting another service through their platform. Also remember, these guys also left Twitch for monetary reasons as well, so no one here looks all that altruistic.
I was literally thinking the same thing a day or so ago, because the sense of deja vu is kind of strong here. I think the issue here that NFT’s are so vague and hard to describe in a gaming environment, and have no clear value to a customer, that I wonder if this’ll be like the whole 3D fad that briefly took over…
Twitch is not a man.
If a person’s culture is the topic at hand and it’s somewhat based on the real world, research should be enough, and it should not be necessary to absolutely have a black person in the creation process.
I think the issue is that while we can see the distinction, Twitch doesn’t.
That apology statement is hilarious. He held up a tourney for over 4 hours, but (somehow) didn’t actually think it was the shady shit he was doing to force everyone else onto high ping servers. Hilarious.
and charge a nominal fee
There’s no way this modchip was bringing in tens of millions of dollars.
Daytime TV is inherently bad, but Graham Norton might be the worst, on both sides of the pond.
Save yourself Megan!!
This whole thing where we act like she was an unwilling accomplice in this man’s incarceration is pretty disgusting. She sacrificed this man’s life just because she had “a feeling” it was him during a random encounter on the street. You can’t do that, then act like she was unwilling after the fact.
