I fear that we are all going to have to figure out how to argue with that level of stupid. I heard a NYT Editor on NPR trying to explain why they didn’t do more stories on “Pizzagate” and in the end he admitted that the NYT just does not know what to say to persons who would believe a lie as as obviously false as

The funniest part of all of this are all the people who appear to be surprised that the group opposing Christian patriarchal ignorance look like good guys.

Heretics defending your rights and freedoms against Christian authoritarianism isn’t an inversion of normality, people. This is par for the course.

See they all are, but they’re geniuses. The way our laws work it’s easier to fight these stupid kind of laws saying your religion is being discriminated against. Also it’s provocative which is great. That’s why they will fight to have a satanic statue in a courthouse because it’ll force the government to get rid of

I highly recommend that people read this post by Dr. Jen Gunter about why the press needs to stop using the term “heartbeat bill”.

If anyone told me 2016/2017 was going to be the year Satanists stood against the tyranny of our (fast approaching) Fascist government, I would have laughed at them. Now I feel like I’m living in a B-movie of some sort, anxiously awaiting the part with demons slaying Nazis in droves.

Welcome to the US, where Satanists care more about protecting your individual liberties than Christians do.

Y’know, I am an atheist. I believe that most of TST folks are, too. So I want to get all criticizey on them and say “Hey, don’t use satire to try to make your point, just use honest argument”. But y’know what? Their shit works. And it seems like it’s often the only thing that does, particularly with this sort of

And at the hospital’s cost no less. Wonder if my Catholic hospital would allow for a Viking funeral?

This law is terrible. First, because it impedes abortions. Second, because it imposes itself upon people who planned on having their child as well. It’s just as unacceptable to force someone who has either lost their baby or has nearly died from their pregnancy to have a funeral as it is to force women who never

I think I agree with your assessment. Although my overall vibe from China was more “John Kerry has convinced us that your new clown president is beneath contempt and to please ignore him, so unless he actually does something especially heinous, get back to us in 4 years.”

the manufacturers of morphine, propofol, and other drugs, such as the one used to euthanize pets, are European Union-based and have threatened to halt import of EVERY medication they make if one of them is used for an execution.

I think they did throw shade, but earlier, when they had “no comment on what motivated the Trump team.” It slides under the radar, until you realize China has just said “We have no idea what set off these crazy-ass motherfuckers this time or what they are trying to accomplish, and we don’t WANT to know.”

Agreed! He’s awesome as Remy on House of Cards as well!

Goddamn Mahershala Ali needs to be in everything; that man is soooo good. I loved him as Stokes on Luke Cage so much.

I also loved “The luckiest woman in the world, Oprah’s BFF Gayle King” because where is the lie?

I just can’t.

Kara, I don’t know how to quit you.

It’s almost like if you write genuinely complex female characters, you don’t need to shorthand their trauma.

I ❤️ Fiona so hard. And Root. I’m always there for Amy Acker.

Just a reminder to male show runners: both Burn Notice and Person of Interest managed to write complicated female characters with past trauma who got into various risky situations without once threatening them with sexual violence. It can be done.
