Well, you know why Texas hasn’t slid off into the Gulf of Mexico? It’s because Oklahoma sucks so hard.

The NBA threatened to pull the All Star game from NC this week. Unfortunately this will not receive the same publicity.

Don’t listen to the scientists. God has a plan for us.... A plan for us to die!

Write Weird Al and Pat Benatar, and tell them, you don’t want to see them perform in OK because of this law. Get your friends to do this as well.

How do I convey the level of anger the women feel in that part of The Handmaid’s Tale where they tell the women that the rebel guy is a rapist so that they tear him limb from limb in an email?

That’s exactly what I thought, too. When it was happening I was like yeah that’s great, but what about the draconian laws most women face? We’re not considered full citizens because of this. And I’ve already turned down tech jobs because they were in states that had laws like this.

Dear Scotus: Please consider this as rebuttal to the argument that Texas women can just go to neighboring states.

I think that conservatives want an ignorant, uneducated electorate. A well educated, involved population would not support policies that go against their own interests.

Don’t forget all the illegal electioneering of the past few years, gerrymandering and voter ID laws (ie: minority disenfranchisement).

Miserable and uneducated= angry at liberals. For some of the sneakier high-up conservatives, this is absolutely intentional.

Again, the Republicans only want small government when it comes to overseeing the activities of old white rich men. For women, it’s a harsh landscape of vaginal ultrasounds and untested rape kits, because god forbid that 8 million should be spent on women’s healthcare, or badly needed infrastructure repairs in a

Because when people are uneducated and miserable it’s their own fault and they need to use their own resources to better themselves and if they don’t it’s too bad because I’m not giving them any of my hard earned money and if I made the right choices why can’t they?

I want to know more about this. They had to give up $8 million in funding for what? They could not have cut funding for PP by cutting them out of Medicaid because that is illegal.

Because the miserable and uneducated tend to vote Republican? That’s the only explanation that I have.....Otherwise, how do you explain the Texas GOP’s 2012 “No teaching critical thinking” platform? According to the Texas GOP, critical thinking has the “purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and

Lawmakers gave up $8 million in federal funding to deprive $380,000 from Planned Parenthood

It’s terrifying that we’re putting the future of humanity at risk because 1) we can’t think beyond the next 365 days 2) it’s so uncool to listen to scientists 3) there’s short term profit in ignoring the truth that we’re doomed.

Climate change is gradual. It’s effects are not immediately noticeable so people don’t see it as urgent or terrifying. Humans, historically speaking, aren’t particularity known for thinking about long-term problems.

Climate change should be terrifying us more than anything else happening on this planet right now. This is not something humanity will recover from.

Same.

It’s also the subtext for Uline as a company. I was offered a job there a few years back, but I didn’t accept it because of the company’s policy of only allowing women to wear pants on Casual Fridays. Yup. It’s skirts only for women at Uline, because that’s what “ladies” should wear. (Or so I was told. I had on pants
