She claims to be the mother of a server. If that’s true, that’s what I’m calling BS on — no family member of a service industry person I’ve ever known (family and friends) completely stiffs on the tip.

You know what? You’re right, I misread. She is the daughter of a server.

Oh honey. You’ve never been a waitress.

Also it cracks me up that people assume that having biological children is her goal. She could do that with a surrogate. What she actually said was that she wanted to experience pregnancy.

Can we just get it in our heads that it is not solely the duty of infertile people to carry the burden of our foster care systems? This woman has already adopted three anyways, but it seems like whenever an infertile person seeks to birth a biological child there are a bunch of people just waving their hands around

Obviously because she was healthy but likely also because she already had children and would thus be less likely to be devastated if it didn’t work.

It’s crazy how everyone keeps moving the goalposts for this woman. When we first heard about the story people said, “She’s so selfish! Why doesn’t she just adopt?” Then we find out that she has adopted children, and they said, “She’s a terrible person to have a biological child when she already has three adopted

Have you tried? I have. Turns out that spending fifty thousand dollars (thus far) and being poked and prodded for a year to try to get pregnant on my own is far cheaper and less emotionally challenging.

She's already adopted three apparently. She's fulfilled her infertile person duties.

I feel like they should have waited longer to announce it.

Holy fuck, this is really awful criticism.

I’m sorry you’re a judgy asshole who shits on women’s choices.

Poor woman and poor family. What an ordeal. :(

Honestly, I liked the way the camera cut away to look at Theon. We already knew Sansa was being raped and we could hear her screams; watching her for 10 more seconds would have just felt gratuitous. It felt like by cutting to Theon, the show was both saying her rape was too painful to keep watching, and bringing in

Just had a horribly dark thought. A lot of the crews working on the cruises may not be able to AFFORD to leave, at least not until the ship gets back to their home country. So you’re stuck. Working on the boat. With an unplanned pregnancy you don’t want. Maybe desperately finding an emergency abortion in some country

Maybe we should also censor the world. In the real world this happens on a daily basis. Just remember nothing in this fictional world comes close to events that happen in the real world.

I have heard that line of argument elsewhere as well, so I think you’re right that “brutality fatigue” has affected audience size/loyalty.

I understand why this scene was horrible, and yes, it was really bad. I think that something that’s overlooked is that this scene WAS about Theon. No, it is not okay to make anyone’s rape about someone else. It isn’t. This show, though, is about countless scenarios that are not okay. With this one, Ramsay did not rape

I want to live in a world where people are more upset by actual rape than seeing it depicted (sort of) in fantasy.

I filmed an “extremely awkward sex scene” once. I was dating this guy for about 3-4 months when he set up his iPhone on a tripod on the bedside table. WTF? NOOOOOooooooo. “It’s just so I can watch it later,” he said. GTFO OF MY HOUSE, I said.
