You've apparently come to the predetermined conclusion that "Anita Sarkeesian's videos are great, and any criticism of them constitutes an attack on women, feminism or Anita Sarkeesian personally."

"One-sided, and close-minded." Right. Because you disagree with it, and have absolutely no substantive counterpoints. Gotcha.

Uh, no. You didn't make anything even remotely resembling a rebuttal. Have you actually watched Sarkeesian's videos? I have. And she doesn't academically cite her sources. You could, I suppose, argue that they aren't supposed to be academic-quality to begin with, that her work is totally useless from an

Hi. Do you remember a guy named Jack Thompson? Because he basically makes the same argument that Anita Sarkeesian does, and her opinions are as free of a factual basis as his.

What are the parallels?

This is a huge part of it. The *gross* intellectual dishonesty of people like Anita Sarkeesian, combined with the knee-jerk support of these people by well-meaning supporters of equality, have exacerbated this issue significantly.

Anita Sarkeesian's hypothesis is as factually, and fundamentally, flawed as, say, Jack

Especially damaging to Bungie considering how the game industry usually showcases a strong relationship between the industry hype machine and 10/10 review scores (or at least, seems to). They certainly didn't match up in this case. Perhaps Destiny is just flawed to the degree to the degree that the reviewers cannot do

Neat. The fact that the opponents weren't knocked out because of the moves makes them seem kind of weak, though.

Notice how *all* of this channel's videos have ratings disabled, and comments disabled. That's not to "prevent trolls."

That showcases a distinct lack of the ability to listen to criticism—constructive or otherwise, combined with a victimization complex.

Maybe you should watch the Dexter finale again.

Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1, not PSP) also has a lot of poorly-written (well, translated) dialogue. Still an amazing game. SO2.. oh, the nostalgia. Must.. play..

Don't forget Precis' "Parabora" beam, instead of parabola. Oh, I want to replay SO2 now.

This is often a class-based issue, where poor, minority communities suffer from problems that disqualify them from serving as police officers — credit issues, criminal records, etc. Relatively speaking, you need a squeaky clean record to join the police force. The police tend to be either originally from elsewhere, or

The NRA highly selectively reads their data to reach their pre-determined conclusions.

What do you see as the biggest obstacle to changing the political conversation from being endlessly escalating "tough on crime" bravado (in practice, harsher sentencing, mandatory minimums, etc) to actually focusing on strategies to fight the causes of crime?

How big of an issue do you consider the corrupting influence

I still don't see how the studios find it reasonable to charge $70 for a 3-4 episode disc. When Code Geass came out on Blu-ray, it was like $80 for the first Blu-ray and it only had ONE episode. You're dooming your property to niche status (or driving most of the legitimate fans to piracy).

Time has shown again and

Wait, you mean you don't like that Kael'thas (and Illidan, too) was made into a villain for no reason whatsoever?

I had a very similar experience. I originally played a text-based online role-playing game (a MUD) where I played a female character, and became known online as that name (in other games), despite being male. My friends from that game met a guy randomly through another (non-roleplaying) game, and we became friends.

You mention how much water it takes to grow one almond. How about how much energy it takes to sustain a milk cow, homogenize and pasteurize it? And how much water goes into growing the feed for the cow, the infrastructure involved in producing that feed and getting it to the cow, etc?

It's more. Animal life is

On the flip-side, you sound like the people who marketers drool over for digital cameras. "MOAR MEGAPIXELS = MOAR KWALITY!!1!"

On a 30" display, at 5 1/2 feet, the benefit of 720p is fully visible, at 3 1/2, 1080p is, for 4k to be visible you have to be about 2 feet away. It's a matter of the limitations of human eyesight.
