Survivor is problematic in and of itself, but I think much less so than the Bach. Even the Zeke stuff, bad, but the show handled it as well as a network show can be reasonably expected to.

They take the starting point and characters of a movie and then play them out as an RPG. Sometimes it sticks pretty close, sometimes things go waaaaay off the rails and make an almost unrecognizable story. They have a core cast but with some rotation.
