Maybe that’s just his pick-up line.

yeah but its awesome

Off to a bad start.

David, that’s a hubcap, not a hat.

That’s not gonna be a problem [puts on engineer hat].

This is an abomination! GM selling off out of production vehicles based on a 10 year old design!

Without knowing what they paid this article isn’t very useful. Even without the pandemic they would have sold for some amount of money eventually. I’d certainly rather have one of these Impalas than the last of the Dodge Journeys.

arguably the coolest car to come from the British Isles in history.

I mean for sure, fuck right off.

The MGA has some of the cleanest lines of any car. Near to production prototypes came in 12th and 17th overall (!!) at LeMans in 1955. And today I learned that, according to Wikipedia anyway, they were raced in Grand National (NASCAR) races in 1960-63, of which I would love to see video. They didn’t win but boy those

British cars cooler than that thing? OK. In no particular order, off the top of my head, no McLaren to soothe your widdle fee-fees:

It’s not easy to see in this video but I love how this thing uses a left hand drive dash and instrument cluster but is still right hand drive.
Keep all those spinny gauges from distracting the driver.

“Now I challenge you to name a single car from Britain that is cooler than this from any brand”

No love for the MGA at all? The car that was originally designed as a Le Mans prototype and then turned into a road car? That made sportscars accessible in the US post-war, and made club racing popular?

I always thought the ZT 260 was pretty cool too, and it came as a wagon. Big, lazy British saloon with an American V8 stuffed inside? That’s cool.

*calculates*

I love things that are so unapologetically ugly that the pointer does a full turn back to “sexy”. This car has a lot of self confidence and exactly zero fucks to give. Kind of reminds me of this PBF comic:

There are some dudes that hang out on like 113th and Broadway that play chess all day and sell books on the street. He drives a land yacht and hauls all his book around in it.
