With the current local folder, I’m browsing with my file browser, using the file browser to open the document, etc. OR I’m within my application (e.g. Affinity Designer), and I’m browsing using the file dialog.
What would my file browser/dialog see locally to allow me to…

I discovered this one the job about 12 years ago. I worked at a high table, sometimes sitting on a high chair, sometimes standing...and moving the mouse around a lot really aggravated my shoulder.
Switching to a Logitech thumb-trackball took strain off my shoulder...a lot.
