I've got the book on the shelf to be read, but haven't gotten to it yet. Perhaps I'll continue to wait until after I see the movie, so I can possibly enjoy them both.

I didn't see it until late last year or early this year when I screened it for my 8 and 5 year old boys. I had heard it was "bad," but figured it would have enough candy-coloured imagery to keep the kids amused, and I wanted to check it out myself. I have only a glancing familiarity with the source material.
