Except it’s not mostly chaff. Just about all of Radiohead’s last three albums, going back 15 years now, are loaded with melody and hooks. You can say you haven’t cared for it, but your initial comment makes it sound like you haven’t actually listened much, because it’s misguided.

They’ve done tons of melodic and relatively traditional songs since then.

The gays win again. 💖💖💖

Well this is weird.

I will NEVER understand the love for “What Up With That”. It’s what SNL does worst, pounding an unfunny concept into the ground. Sudekis was the only remotely amusing part, just because his character was such a bizarre touch.  That sketch is just as infuriatingly unfunny as Garth and Kat and Bruce Chandling.

“Aside from money, is there a logistical reason why blanks are still used and gun shots aren’t done in post?”

I’m not sure the way to appease these viewers is to allow people to die on set with the use of blanks.”

I can’t think of a single reason to appease these viewers, or give the tiniest fuck about what they think in the first place, for that matter.

You might as well complain about Zen-Day-uh vs. Zen-Die-uh in the hypnotist Weekend Update spot, while you’re at it.  Oddly distracting to have people pronounce names differently, when only one of them is “right” and I don’t really care which.

It’s too bad we don’t have a more concise word to use instead of the clunky “wife guy”- I dunno, like... husband... or spouse?

Is avclub sponsored by William Shatner now or what?

I dunno if it was just lowered expectations, but I rather enjoyed the episode. It helped the worst sketch was right out the gate too. And the Hard Seltzer one was exactly to my sense of humor.

I say your c- grade is low...   This show was better than last week.

Brice Wayne? Jesus...

But what about his birdsuit?

I would note that the difference between this and the Simpsons/Disney issue is that Netflix is licensing out Seinfeld from Sony, so Netflix is putting up what Sony gives them. I doubt they had a choice in the matter.

This issue has nothing to do with Netflix all they ever do is host whatever files are given to them by the people who own the show. If you want to complain then complain at how Studios are putting in so little thought into the classics when they license them out.

Is AV Club actually that far behind the 8-ball? Sony produced these 16:9 HD versions more than 7 years ago and they have been running that way on both cable and the streamers ever since. Netflix has nothing to do with it. They are just running the package as it already exists. I've seen other media outlets run similar

It seems a little silly to blame Netflix for this, when Sony are the ones who did this years ago. It's been playing in syndication, digital distribution and other streaming services in this ratio for years now.

Ummm, Seinfeld has been in 16x9 for years now.
