It was definitely weird to center the plot around some hard to picture mistake that most viewers probably don't even completely understand. On the other hand I did appreciate the chance it gave Marcus Scribner to REALLY deliver on that disgust and mocking amusement at his father's act, and slightly awed resignation

Hey, she only stole from the people who donated to charity. They still donated! Charity got its money!

I was glad Ruby called out Vivian for appearing out of nowhere because holy crap that long absence was awkward.

Yeah I would trade back to be honest. I mean I'd rather have them all. But Lucy plays a better straight man than Josh; when the only real strong presences are Crazy Charlie and Crazy Boss it can be a little too much crazy. Somehow Daphne's brand of crazy still kept the scene balanced.

There are so many wonderfully parodyable elements in that scene, you can pick and choose :) The limp and the multiple-angle shots of the shattering cup will totally do it.

Yeah, how common a name is Thelonious anyway? Because Thelonious doing some killing is pretty relevant right now.

But she has so much spy-portrayal experience! I'm sure she'd fit right in!

Could be! I really would've liked to see that alternate reality version of the show. I could see Elizabeth watching Paige go out the door in disgust "ugh, teenagers, she'll be back". I could also see her grabbing her by the collar and locking her in her room until they develop and understanding. Write me some

Eh, I'd believe that if I saw it, but his tendency seemed to be towards depression, not looking for an excuse to fight. He only got riled up when Elizabeth was, well, legitimately patronizing.

Yeah it was a great scene, just…a pretty horrifying one.

I thought the same. On the other hand he just baaaarely managed to turn on enough interpersonal radar to think maybe he shouldn't stay for dinner, so, progress?

The fact that the director had heard so much about it from Affleck that he had to warn Wright about it before she met him just makes it even better. "Yeah, look Ben just won't shut the fuck up about your show, so…"

TIME TO REWATCH THE ENTIRE SHOW AND FIND OUT

If this show was only about what was a priority for the Center it wouldn't be very interesting. They've taken all sorts of assignments and made them about what the characters made them.

Not really.

I'm normally among the crowd to pounce on folks using such loaded language, but: holy shit Elizabeth was a total bitch to her daughter there. She wants Paige to stay close to the people they need to control? She might want to practice what she preaches. She could've driven Paige straight into the nearest police

I mean, judging from last week Henry is quite deferential about the beers unless Matthew is bringing them out, so for once it seems like it's Stan's own kid who's imposing on the household.

Every business is ultimately about making money. Every business promotes itself. That doesn't mean it is automatically failing to provide the service it claims to provide. This is, just as Elizabeth hates, exactly how capitalism is supposed to work.

…because she crossed her by threatening to turn her in to the police, exactly. Looks like we're all on the same page!

When I wore braces as a kid, I always complained about the pain and annoyance and asked when they could come off. Eventually my orthodontist told me something to the effect of "well, really, none of this is permanent, most people should really be wearing orthodontia their whole lives." I immediately declared I was
