I wish this was part of the actual episode haha, I'm missing it upon re-watch. But Happy Endings doesn't go to 30 Rock levels of playing with the medium. Missed opportunity.

I had to read your post telling me there was anything to get, before I could get it. I just assumed Dave was talking nonsense at that point.
The Brazilian was actually a pretty funny guy, especially his "respect" about not looking like a Dan.
@avclub-989ca0fe3ec0682c7349593ff5feb4a4:disqus I'd expect nothing less from a member of the master race.
I'm sorry, I know it's three years later, I just had to say this is still one of my favorite comments anywhere ever.
Re-watching, yep. Right now, just whatever I catch on BBC America, but at some point I'll do a full TNG run-through…just as soon as I finish my DS9 run through haha.
Aside from what's already been discussed about how contrived "Final Mission" is, three things really bugged me:
"Future Imperfect" and "Remember Me" are both very flawed, but also have some great moments. "Remember" got a wonderfully creepy atmosphere going, and the "universe is a 700 meter donut" stuff at the end was fun, while "Future Imperfect" had some fun "what if"s for many characters. Unlike something like "The Bonding"…
That was SO FUNNY. Completely unremarked-upon, just part of the "what a piece of shit" vibe.
No need to answer the obvious question, we've all been there! (Well, all the cool people anyway.)
I think Riker's future vision of Deanna is actually much more complex than we give him credit for! She is:
A) Not his wife/pining for him
2) Wearing the blue uniform (god damn right!)
d) Working in a Starfleet Command position directly underneath Admiral Picard, instead of doing silly counselor things
I may have heard it here first, but my heart knew it from the start.
I thought you said they were horrid?
I still get my nerd credit if I've never heard of the Junction system but was still able to guess exactly what you were talking about, right? (Hell, maybe even BONUS nerd credit, amirite?)
That's okay, these were relatively poor episodes on drama :)
Rowan, you've saved me from writing a 5-years late writeup of my own feelings, thank you. "Contrived" is exactly the word I'd use for both of these. ESPECIALLY the "technomagical obstacle only Wesley can solve" - sorry Zach, that absolutely DOES need more justification.
I didn't think Wil played it that way, no. He seemed too exhausted for that kind of deception, and honestly if he was really trying to appeal to Picard it should've been more about "honor" and "duty" and "pride" not "you're basically my father". No, it seemed rather cloyingly honest, and Wesley-centric.
I always read "Desilu" as a corruption of "The Sulu".
But Troi IS the writers as much as it is the actor. Zach doesn't say "Marina Sirtis is a pile of shit" every episode, he's saying TROI is poorly used, which is a criticism of the writing, which is exactly what you're asking for, no?
While we're all having fun remembering ads for pop culture that was relevant two decades ago, Paramount lawyers are having fun charging $500/hr issuing takedown notices for ads for pop culture that was relevant two decades ago.
