I was pretty much on board with the article ('yes, treatment sounds good, these studies sound good, good that this kid doesn't condone sex with children in any way') until i got to the part about the guy who's a pre-school teacher. I don't care what he claims about the age range of his proclivities or how much his

I'm afraid "curing" pedophelia will be about as successful as "curing" homosexuality, or any other sexual orientation for that matter.

I'd wear them, but then I'd want to get the white part all grubby so they don't look so weird.

Yeah I walked home from school (3/4th) a mile from my home at that age and would walk to the park by myself. Not a big deal so grilling this mom is total bullshit.

When I was nine, I rode my bike or skated all over the neighborhood and hung out at the library alone. No one said Boo. But I'm white and lived in the suburbs so apparently my parents couldn't be negligent. Also, my 8 year old niece walks her dog by herself every day, and again, no one calls the cops.

Agreed. The default is White Helicopter Mom, so this woman is a "failure" on two counts.

You know, I had this crazy thought.

Man, this is insane. I really feel for this mom and wish she lived in another country where people are not bat-shit insane about requiring helicopter parenting (and maybe where there are more child care options.) I read this article about parenting across the world, just this morning.

Because my mouth

If a person's success in life can be measured by how many people they helped to keep going no matter what by bringing laughter to their hearts and reminding them of the sheer joy of living, then I have to say: hands down, Mr. Robin Williams, you won. Thank you for all the times you touched my heart and made me keep

"Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning."

one time I waz making out with my gf and the phone rang, and dude said 'leave my daughter alone' and my girl said who was that, and I was like ur dad, and she was like my dad's dead. Then who was phone?

This is a war on *poor* parents. By and large, the greatest density of registered sex offenders will be in the poorer neighborhoods of any city. So if you are a poor single mom, and you're grateful for perhaps the first 30 minutes you've had to yourself in a month...you are at greater risk for negligent parenting

I understand parents being advised not to do this by law enforcement.

I totally get that. Posing in front of a photographer should be easy if you like them but if everything feels awkward and the whole purpose of the shoot is not something you jive with, it does not matter.

Haha! I too refuse all requests for belly shots. My mom asked for them all the time so I would send pics of my cat's belly. The only photo we have was taken surreptitiously by my spouse. It was the day my kid was due, I'm in the OB's office, cranky, and feeling like parade float. Belly shots are great for those who

It never occurred to me to have professional pregnancy photos done. I didn't even know it was a thing until Pinterest.

I blame the roughly-simultaneous advent of scrapbooking and social media. It's like we created an environment where every milestone - big, small, or completely imaginary - has to be perfectly captured, preserved, and shared. The pregnancy shoots are a part of perfecting that image. Look, I'm happy they're happy,

VAGINAS DON'T PEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To this day, my favorite pic of my entire pregnancy, consists of me, poolside, eight months along and huge, wearing sunglasses and a bikini, flipping the bird at my ex because I did not want to be photographed.
