What an underhanded way to promote the sale and publicity of this item. Degenerate writer.

This is what happens when academia expands unchecked except by the free market. You have people checking for low hanging fruit in all sorts of places.

This is the price for beefed up security at airports. Are we gonna hire Nobel laureates to work for this low pay, or uneducated individuals with limited training? If we gotta hire so many of them, the overall quality of the hires is inevitably driven down.

When you cripple a man, you don’t remove his chance for redemption, you merely cut short his will. Snuffing a man's light completely is different.

Steven Spielberg is old. Even with his sharpness of craft, you can see his relevancy slipping with each film. His best recent film was Bridge of Spies, because he made it for other old people, whom he can still understand.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jon has some sort of curse on him now, after being brought back. It seems in a rain of arrows, everyone around him fell, but he was miraculously saved. Perhaps now that he has come back from the dead, he can't die again, but the people around him and closest to him will all be doomed.

She could have pled with him not to do it because she knew in some vague way it was "bad" or "wrong" without fully understanding as an adult the ramifications of such an action. Like a child who gets molested will know something wrong is happening to them without really understanding what's happening to them.

She thought she could go slumming and brag to her friends that she had a boyfriend in the favela and not pay the price. She wanted to flirt with the danger for free, and her boyfriend gave her the price.

I only glanced at a couple articles, but I didn't see any mention that the Brazilian girl didn't give consent. All it said was that she woke up surrounded by men, some of which were armed. Sounds like an intimidating situation, but nonetheless I didn't read that she didn't give consent to the act.

That woman had a boyfriend in the favela. Articles seems to imply that she is not from such a background. What was she doing slumming it down there, exploiting an impoverished young man so she could get a "taste of danger"? Do you think if they were in a mutually respectful relationship he would've loaned her out to Read more

Maybe she liked it, but is embarrassed by the social repercussions of her actions. It seems all parties involved were minors and it was consensual, so the act itself wasn't harmful, just the stories that get around that will mark her as an outcast. Getting a train run on you by 30 or so boys doesn't mean your life has Read more

Sounds like this girl knew what she was doing, but now has to play the victim because otherwise this kind of story makes her a laughingstock. Back in the old days, they'd just run away from home and get a fake ID and become a stripper or porn actress.

If this woman had any sense, she wouldn’t have been “best friends” with a man like that in the first place. Predators always pick the weak and the stupid. I’ll bet anything this guy was gonna pick up the check and usually if not always picks up the check for them. This woman probably knew the guy was into her but Read more

I think "creepy as fuck" is an incredibly interesting reaction in today's context. In the age of Youtube, when we can peruse videos of beheadings and bombings at our leisure, when something held up to be art still has the ability to creep us out, it deserves some contemplation.
