I don’t really feel sorry for the journalists, considering that they printed email story after email story after email story, prioritized clicks and net traffic over the good of our country, and now are going to have to deal with what they’ve helped do.

Whether you care about their concerns is irrelevant. You need their votes so dismissing their concerns accomplishes nothing. So when you’re giving the middle finger to a group of people why would they bother to care about your concerns in return?

Because I understand how some people felt that means I have empathy? Ridiculous. I’m not excusing their vote but if you can’t understand their reasoning then how do you expect to get their vote? Understanding where someone is coming from =/= excusing someones behavior.
