I think it could be pretty realistic to say he doesn’t know John and Jordan were there. They crashed through the door and hit him with a truck, I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to be able to recognize who was driving it.

Leslie Larr is like the mustache twirling version of Ellie Kemper’s character from the office.
the 1980s encapsulated in one panel
It was gut-wrenching seeing evil alt-earth Superman murder Lois, after she said goodbye to her husband & daughter, to the ironic TV tagline “Lois Lane-Live”
I loved this reveal. The actor is awesome, and the writing was really well-done as well. This show continues to really impress, and I love where it’s headed.
That Steel twist was great! “Captain Luthor” had so many similar qualities I was worried we’d never see John Henry Irons in the Beeboverse. The Prime-Earth Irons was already dead, which explains why this one isn’t experiencing lethal migraines.
I swear, about ten minutes before they revealed his name, watching those “building my supersuit” montages, I was thinking “they should have made him John Henry Irons! He’s making the Steel suit!” then “Nah, wasn’t Nat his niece?” Because I am a dope:-P
So help me, after all these years of superhero shows and movies being the dominant force in pop culture, i still get a little thrill whenever they introduce a character from the comics. Just a jolt of “hey, I know that name!”
I was thinking more someone tempting him with powers with a devil’s deal... like Lex promising to activate them somehow (he is half his dad. They’re gotta be in there somehow)
Another great episode for the vault. Just wish people would drop the “B-but how does this fit into the Arrowverse? W-where is Kara?” shit already. I for one, couldn’t care less. Base this show on its own merits. And to be frank, the other shows are cheesy cosplay fanfic-pandering trash anyway, and could stand to learn…
Lois and Lana continue to have perhaps the show’s most interesting relationship, mercifully free (I think?) of jealousy or rivalry, but instead with obvious mutual respect.
Lots of good acting in the episode including that final scene.
You know, I think Sam Lane might be a bit of an asshole.
...I’m struggling to think of a U.K. actor’s North American accent that isn’t comical.
Always great to see Claudia Black, especially in a sci-fi context (going all the way back to Pitch Black).
Is it really “Welcome Back, Kara?” Because that could be a Legends ep title.
I thought this was a really strong episode an A- at least AV Club! The Lena/Kelpie shot was straight from Alien 3 and I was totally fooled at first thinking Alex was genuinely toast! I do really miss the Kara/ CatCo/National City world though. Too many of these shows end up in fantasy sets and in convoluted…
I am glad that Kara has her dad back but he is no Erica Durance. For that matter I really want Erica Durance and Helen Slater to both return and have a Kara’s moms team-up before the series ends
