If a comedian wants to do a routine about the Yankees and the only punchlines they can come up with involve Derek Jeter and A Rod, they should have a filter that tells them to forget it. If a comedian wants to do a political routine and can only come up with this stuff, the same filter should kick in.

It’s not a bad impression–it’s got a bit of Fire Marshall Bill in there that somehow catches Biden’s wiry old-man energy. But I’m not happy that they seem to be taking the ‘Biden is senile’ route.

Yeah Chris Rock’s politics have always been kind of lazy. I’m fairly sure he was in the ‘give Trump a chance’ crowd after 2016.

Honestly, Chris Rock’s opening monologue really pissed me off. It was 90% just the same old “the government doesn’t work” crap that fails to realize that the government failing to work, especially these days, is primarily the result of one party doing absolutely everything they can to prevent the government from

The Drew Barrymore talk show was to me easily the best sketch of the night. Remarkably on target.

I was legitimately shocked how much I liked Carrey’s take on Biden. Some of the jokes on the actual debate kind of missed because the reality of it was so absurd it was even difficult to hit on something, but the commitment and character were there. And Biden struggling to contain that anger is not only a source of

Meanwhile, Herman Cain’s ghost:

When you vote, you’re not voting “for” Trump or Biden. Trump and Biden have picked people in each state to act as their Electors. Trump may have picked Ronald Gump and Biden may have picked Flo Smiden in your state, for example. They’re usually local leaders of each respective party. Your ballot “for” Trump actually

Hey Donnie, try shooting up with bleach.  Maybe that’ll help (speed the process up).

Thank the Maker, the nightmare is almost over.  Drop Dead Donnie.

I was actually devastated when I thought this was the end for Mother and Father. Glad that wasn’t the case.  I’m interested to see how the rest of the story is fleshed out in the next season.

to me the marcus thing isnt an after thought. Im really interested in how he’ll deal with the atheists-if he’ll throw back in with them, or if the religious shit and his power trip has permanently twisted his brain.

Thats a stupid origin story, if only because that happens all the time in France and its now a misdemeanor, so he wouldnt have had to flee

Secondly, that she had to kill him. He was pointing a handgun at Butcher. All she had to do was step in front of him, no? She’s stopped a 50-cal with not a scratch!

It’s so American to have a character like Jessica Hyde, whose whole thing is that she’s ‘in hiding’ and give her the most distinctive character design of the show.

This review and the comments have alerted me to the existence of the original, which I’m adding to my list, so that’s helpful!

I don’t know which executive it is who has this idea, “let’s buy the rights to every popular British TV show, then spend a lot of money making a terrible remake that is close enough to the real thing to not have any originality or suprise, and yet that doesn’t even slightly understand or try to imitate what was

The original managed a lot of horror precisely *because* the characters were deeply affected by what they saw and experienced and couldn't move on. I expected a lot to be lost in translation here, but even *that*? Yeesh.

Original series was a truly spectacular use of six one-hour episodes to tell a dark and convincing story, one that resonates particularly deeply in 2020.  Not a SECOND of screen time was wasted.

So this remake cuts out the humor and the striking visuals, stretches out the fast pace, and simplifies the heroic but also monstrous and scary Jessica Hyde to a one-note badass.
