Ugh, I truly despise this sort of “criticism of criticism.” If the reviewer’s opinion doesn’t match the comments he should get the boot? Wrong. His review is thoughtful and well-expressed; if you disagree with it, you should be thankful he drew the lines so well that you could push back.

My reaction exactly. It’s one thing, for instance, to read about the (totally inadequate for the Arctic) clothing the men wore; another to see exactly what it looked like, and fully realise how impractical it was.

I’m absolutely loving this series. After having read so much about this expedition, it’s incredible to watch it acted out on screen. Just terrific.

plus, i’m loving the credits sequence!

False.

Not ONE mention of the medieval flashback? The very first acknowledgment/portrayal of “Army of Darkness” in the show?

“Kevin. I won’t be joining you at the opera. The tickets are under my name; “H... O... L...”

She’s a lunatic. There’s enough real ones, I don’t need to patronize the fictionalized version of one of them.

Sounds like Barr is really daring all the Trump haters out there to not watch her show.

Canada is the most terrifying place in the world. Mirror Universe Canada is a tyrannical despotism populated by vicious, ruthless conquerors who have invaded peaceful Mirror Universe America six times. Their capture of Mirror Universe Michigan nearly brought us to our knees. Ten thousand starved polar bears, driven

Black Sails, Black Sails, Black Sails, Black Sails! Don’t let the “Treasure Island prequel” bit scare you. If someone hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t even have realized until they named John Silver Long John Silver, and that happens in the last season (not really a spoiler). Also, it deals with a lot of historically

Watch Master & Commander quick, I believe it’s leaving HBO GO at the end of the month. It also is an amazing adaptation of a wonderful series that manages to capture the spirit while not being beholden to what was on the page. It might just be my favorite movie adapted from a book, ever.

I also liked Ravi pointedly introducing himself to Chase Graves, and Chase backing down and apologizing for being rude, and afterward telling Ravi it was nice to meet him. So of course I now like Chase Graves about 100% more, since he was polite to Ravi.

This week in Ravi is the Best

Not even a passing mention of Mel Rodriguez’s totally brilliant drunk Todd confronting Melissa about going to see Jasper.

“What are you drinking?”

I loved when Tandy let the diaper baloon go it almost floated into Melissa’s face before it veered off.

Frannie should have been given up for adoption, never to be heard from again - at least not within this show’s lifetime.

I absolutely loved Forte’s delivery when he did the “4-blah blah blah-six” during his countdown.

Getting? No, it’s been a drag on the show for a while now. I’ve been enjoying this season so far, but every damn thing involving her sister’s family just grinds things to a halt. It’s not even that the sister is wrong as much as it just sucks narratively.
