Current charging stations already load balance as more and more cars hook up, a future station with a dozen outlets very likely won’t ever draw 12MW off the grid, that’d be insane and very likely unworkable, it’s as much as a whole town uses.

This is why more and more EV charging stations are utilizing battery pack energy storage, to smooth out the load on the local grid. CO2 heatpumps are efficient even down to very low temperatures it seems. They operate at higher pressure than traditional units which makes them more expensive, but the overall efficiency increase is sure to make them show up in EVs eventually.
