Ahhhh… That might explain it then. They’re on ethanol now, aren’t they?? We were wondering why it was so clearly visible and not that freaky-ass invisible fire we’ve seen videos of previously.
This is the story of Rick Mears big pit lane fire in 1981:
Wish I could make shitty comments that get ungreyed
Team Penske needs to play more Clash Royale to get the timing down. I always miss like that with the fireball.
Back when Indy cars ran on methanol, you would not have seen something like that. Methanol flames are nearly invisible in daylight.
I love how the Penske crew next to them tries to throw a bucket of water at it as it drives by. A+ for effort
I’m hoping for zero cylinder full size trucks so we can have less of these pointless mastodons on the roads.
Ah, but he would also have been driving on the other side of the road, which means he would have likely missed the pole entirely due to the different trajectory. ;)
Right hand drive is good for many many things.
Happened in the UK so most likely driver was on the right hand side of the vehicle, away from the lamp post; still probably very banged up.
Any excuse to post this....
At least he could have done a wheelie.
I think they should do a Neat Stuff In Cool Cars with this car, and let Steff drive it.
You can always get the car out. I once had to get my car out of a spot where BOTH the car behind me AND the car in front of me were touching my bumpers — you get out of that very carefully, by moving forward and backward just an inch or so at a time, rocking the other cars backward and forward on their suspensions.
1) New York residents get to be INSANELY good at parallel parking (my personal proudest moment was parallel parking in a spot with a total of four inches to spare, front-and-back, on ICE); and
2) New York residents don’t really care too much about hitting the cars in front of and behind them; it’s accepted that other…
I wonder if it could be an application of this type:
