I read about a woman who took out well over $100k in loans for a degree in musical theater. I just don’t get it. The odds of rising to a level that would pay off that debt is miniscule.

I’m assuming you didn’t hear about the no hire lists that were shared among several of the biggest tech companies in the Valley. They literally sent lists around of people who other companies were not allowed to hire away. They then colluded to keep salaries at a certain level.
