Why hire localizers, who truly understand the complexities and nuances of a language when translating it, when you can go with machine learning, which can only mimic understanding?

Translator here: AI is not helping us at all. All it does is make our job duller, less interesting, and sometimes even harder, not to mention more stressful, as clients and employers expect us to work faster for less pay, since they believe that “the computer does all the work”
Just a heads up, $wag Messiah is noted troll universalamander. Best not to reply.
That’s actually what they’re trying to do, and it’s a big part of the problem. It’s also failing miserably. The AI-generated first drafts are garbage, and the translators have to go back to the original Japanese and start from scratch in almost every case. They’re also paying these translators significantly cheaper…
Good subtitles can make or break a film/show, if you can’t understand the language. I loved Let The Right One In and saw it several times in the theater, and never purchased it because the DVD subtitles were notoriously bad.
My question is why does your husband with dementia have access to the bank accounts?
Exactly. With the exception of the wife of the man with dementia, I feel sorry for no one here. Critical thinking is sorely lacking in today’s society.
I’m gambling averse in the first place, but anything that promises ‘free money’ gets an automatic ‘fuck off’ from me.
Whenever I see Elon Musk’s face attached to something, I know you can instantly trust it.
The person sent me the first page of the passport of Elon Musk. Looks legitimate.
Thing with that is the food comes to you. People taking the effort to go out and grab stuff tend to only use those apps on places that lack a drive through.
Surge pricing works for Uber and Lyft not because of their market power, but because it also creates additional incentive for drivers to drive during that time. There is also potentially a huge difference in urgency for users of car services. If I am running late for a meeting, or flight, I might be happy to pay more…
Remember when people thought prices would go up because of employees getting a living wage?
Weird choice to purposely kill your business, but this is why I’m not a CEO.
It’s very important to boycott Wendy’s, because if this system ends up working, you can be sure it will spread like wildfire through the fast food industry and beyond.
Somehow, I doubt that the staff at Wendy’s will see a dime off this.
Hm. Where should we go for lunch?
I know! Let’s go to the place that specifically raises their prices at lunch time!
I try not to make predictions, but a fast food restaurant charging more at times when people are hungry and/or have time to eat sounds like a big mistake.
Guess I’m not eating Wendy’s anymore.
Annnnnnd fuck that. No.
