30 Rock’s pilot was really good too. As was Happy Endings’  -- but that show was so good that its pilot was, though hilarious and a good intro to the characters, possibly the weakest episode...

it also benefitted from coming out RIGHT when everyone was buying dvds. those first 2 seasons were a staple up there with donnie darko or zoolander.

Like so much great art is was undervalued and under appreciated in its day. Also we often do not speak of the netflix years. 

It’s quite possibly the best comedy pilot of all time. Most shows need a few episodes to really gel. Arrested Development was top notch from the start.

This. I am much more confident that Johnson is blatantly not disclosing his holdings for reasons that make sense only to him, rather than that he has no money.

I am flummoxed that the take here is that Johnson is somehow one of those “broke boys”, instead of some mixture of the evils of Republican loopholes (and competent exploitation thereof) and the torrent of improper disclosure (and other financial) scandals even Jez has been covering
