Because they’re not artists. They’re tech dudes who think they can take something squishy and messy like art and recreate it with cold engineering. They don’t actually understand what art is, why people make it, or why people appreciate it.

That observation applies to the AI stuff too.

AI can be an incredible and useful tool to allow people to more easily express their creative ideas and designs in ways that were simply not an option for them to do even just a couple years ago

I get it, but Officer and a Gentleman came out in ‘82, and he starred in American Gigolo only two years prior, so I can see why someone would reasonably call him a sex symbol.

I bounced off of it when it first came out, but I gave it another try when The Final Cut was released. I’m really glad I tried it again, because it’s great, and I probably had a better first-time experience because of it.
