The comments section of a pop-culture website isn’t a representative cross-section of the available jury pool. A large majority of the jurors who come in will never even have heard of this story, much less watched a documentary about it.

It’s possible for the court to ask prospective jurors if they’ve seen the documentary. And even if a few million people nationwide watch it, it would still only be a small percentage of any prospective jury pool.
