A player from California, Washington or Colorado testing positive for weed, being thrown in a Filipino prison and disappearing would be... problematic. Which given the Duterte regime’s approach to drug enforcement isn’t exactly out of the realm of possibility.

At first I was thinking this didn’t make any sense, but then I thought a bit more about the political climate of the Philippines and this move makes a bit more sense.
