Amen, brother. I watched that last game and as much as I hate the “the Warriors didn’t win, the Rockets lost” argument, well, here we are. Houston had a historically bad shooting night. If they had been just plain bad, if they had just had an off night, they would have won easily. And I loathe the Rockets.

Yep. If my dad had been an NBA player I totally would be in the league now, dropping 400 3s in a season. It’s called science.

His motion doesn’t change with distance, and the nerdy stat nerds at 538 have used, like, numbers and stuff to show that his efficiency doesn’t drop with distance or usage. All of which should be impossible.

Can you give examples of specific matches?

To be clear here: You’re saying LeBron intentionally lost two games? He played 36 and 39 minutes to rest?

Yes, clearly Houston’s problem is that Harden doesn’t get enough love from the refs. And any NBA fans know that Curry only hits so many 3s because the refs replace the rims with hula hoops when he shoots.

On the one hand, this is a chickenshit move with the intention of injuring another player, who can’t even see him.
On the other hand, DERP DERP MAN’S GAME DERP DERP HARDNOSED DERP DERP PETE ROSE.

Safety? Pfffttt. DERP DERP MAN’S GAME.

Nick Saban hasn’t won 97 NCAA championships because he’s a good person. It’s more than a little bizarre that the NCAA said “What if a kid wants to transfer... I know, let’s let the coach he doesn’t want to play for decide if he can!”

This kinda gets lost in the discussion, that there is no basketball skill at which Jordan was superior to James. The Jordan (and Kobe) arguments are based on metrics like “hates to lose”, “has that look in his eye”, and my personal favorite, “assassin”.

I am optimistic to see what kind of nation they form from the pieces of what was the United States.

Uh, yeah, the problem with the Rockets is that James Harden doesn’t get enough calls... His entire game is based on looking bad to bait the officials into bullshit calls. It didn’t work tonight. I am personally excited to watch the greatest player of all time go up against arguably the greatest team of all time, but

The Rockets had a historically bad shooting night. If they had just a bad shooting night they would have won easily. So... no.

The nerdy stat nerds at 538 said “this is easily the worst crop of teammates James has ever dragged to an NBA Finals — even worse than the one he had while being swept by the San Antonio Spurs as a 22-year-old in 2007"

So... he’s still made it to eight Finals, correct? Just checking that we agree on the facts.

This is bad Kinja.

he’s an insufferable prick

I understand rooting for your team and your guys, but if you can’t appreciate what James is doing, you are not a basketball fan. You are a fan of your team, and there’s a difference. Try to enjoy watching the GOAT.

I think you’re a few years behind. I honestly don’t understand how this is open to discussion any more.

At the risk of being “that guy”, an armpit doesn’t qualify as “paraphernalia”. The point of this rule is to deal with situations in which the ball is stuck and can not be retrieved in a timely fashion. The ump is part of the field. This call was incorrect.

but at least a little uncool
