Panthers. Cheap, reliable, easy to work on. Great to hoon in the desert, which I will be doing with mine tomorrow night.
Everybody go out and buy this thing, bring this segment back to America and let's see some mid-sized truck competition.
It's on my list of things to fix (holes in the roof too, one day).
I knew I was overpaying, I had the money and I was looking for a project. That being said, in the San Francisco Bay Area it seems like $3k would've been the median price for CVPIs like mine. This is why I'm moving outta here in January!
You know, I thought this would be the case, but I put a set of Hella driving lights on the bumper of mine, never wash it, and really it doesn't seem to freak anyone out. I also try to not drive like a cop.
Man, I wish I had access to those auctions. I paid almost $4k for a 2003 with 130,00k on the clock with a very clean engine and very bad suspension. I've heard magical tales.
So I know this is tongue-in-cheek but I owned one of those (same year, was a Merc) and while they perform surprisingly well off road, the only car I've found that's less fun to drive is 1991 Cutlass Ciera I owned for a spell.
and police cruisers are famous for having empty trunks
At least be a nice guy and take the spot light off. I hate when people buy old police cars and leave the spot light on it because they think its cool/funny.
Most of us have that sinking feeling when we see a crown vic driving behind us and think it's a cop car only to see it isn't when they pass us by.
This article really bummed me out, because not only does that guy get paid to write for Forbes, but he probably will have (or maybe even has had) at least a relatively successful career. That article was a disaster and was embarrassing to read. It reeks of entitlement, and worse I think he manages to take what could…
@EDogg No, no you are not. I watched this video three times just to watch how casual it seemed. Like this was an everyday occurrence.
Maybe nobody is surprised that a Crown Victoria is fun? I bought one earlier in the year (not pictured above) and I have never had so much fun in my life behind the wheel of an automobile as I did when I took it out to some dirt roads in middle of the California desert and went for it.
this is the most brilliant part here.
