That’s still the smash community though. The Smash community, just like the Street Fighter, KoF or Mortal Kombat communities, are a collection of various groups separated by the different iterations of games they play in a series. Plenty of them play multiple games in a series as well.

They do, which is why I think people should drop the games entirely.

But people love the things they love. I don’t think any kind of legality is ever gonna stop a pursuit of that kind of community enjoyment. Which is why people continue to try and host these things year after year.

Well for a lot of these scenes, they only exist because of local community organization and tournaments like this. These games only continue to live through their competitive scene, so the options are A. Keep trying or B. Give up on the game. And giving up on something you love is pretty shitty.
