It’s always Metal Gear for me. The long crawl out of the hospital in TPP was one of the most grueling set pieces I can remember. Unfortunately, it was also one of the only moments in the game (still not finished) where form meets function.

FWIW, I LOVE exploring Super Mario Odyssey, and I agree with your write-up that the purple coins are a great way to incentivize the player to poke around in strange corners.
